Call NVC and request them to review your DS-261 (Choice of Agent) over the phone with you. Once they do, it will unlock the IV Fee within 24 hours.

Awesome. I just called, and the man said he was updating it on his end (i suppose reviewing it as you said?) - he said within a week, it should come through so we can pay it. Hoping it is within 24 hours!

The reason I was able to pay both fees is because last week while I was unable to pay the fees the agent I spoke to did choose my agent for me, so now that the system is working my thing gave me the option to pay both fees.. Edited by war teacher

I was debating whether to put my issue up because there are so many people celebrating and I don't want to be a downer. However, I guess it's a learning opportunity of some kind of anyone else that might have to go through this.

They keep asking for Liberia and Nigeria PCC's.

My husband only lived in Nigeria for 6 months so a PCC isn't needed as per the DOS website.

Yes, husband lived in Liberia for several years, however being a non National and a non Resident, trying to obtain one is pretty much a dead end. Even the DOS' Reciprocity Schedule says "Applicants not resident in Liberia can request that their biographic information and fingerprints be sent to the Liberia National Police via the police headquarters of their home country, however, in practice, these requests are rarely completed."

After the first checklist, I called and spoke with a Supervisor and she agreed to both points and said I should not have been checklisted for either of those and would put a note in the system stating that. However, looks like she didn't because the agents I spoke with didn't see it in there. even when I tell them she would have entered it on March 17th if not the 18th. All they see is she sent it back to the Document Review department. that Supervisor also said for me to send a letter stating Liberia was unobtainable as my husband currently resides in India and to include what the DOS website says. I did exactly that for both Nigeria and Liberia. I included screen shots with reference to their website that clearly shows Previous Country of Residence is at least 1 year for Nigeria and then what I quoted above for Liberia.

It's a mess. the second girl I spoke with yesterday, Fay, said there seems to be a lot of loose ends because the system only showed my documents were pending review yet a checklist was issued. I asked if I could speak with a supervisor and she was kind of ugly about it saying, "what are you going to ask the supervisor that I haven't already discussed with you?" so I was a little bit stern myself and said, "I want to ask her why i'm being checklisted again on documents that shouldn't have been even when I follow a Supervisor's instructions on how to get this resolved." so that's when she put me on hold for almost 10 minutes. she SAID (i'm hoping I should believe her) she went and sat with a supervisor and explained my situation (I don't know why she didn't let me talk with her directly and explain myself) and the supervisor pulled up my DS-260 and said she agreed on Nigeria but the application shows he lived in Liberia for several years and that's why it was asked for. I explained again that Liberia is unobtainable and I sent a letter stating that with reference to their Reciprocity schedule back with the original package in February and again last month! By the end of the conversation, Fay was feeling sorry for me and said she would take down my case number and check to make sure a supervisor was reviewing my case file. Again, not sure if I should believe that or not. She said she can't do anything because she can't see my documents and only a supervisor can close out the case and she needs my file physically in front of her to do that. That's when I asked her about the documents being scanned. She said only the cover sheet with the bar code gets scanned to notify the system that more documents have been received. they don't actually scan all the documents into the system.

I would think a supervisor would know what's on their own website and their own rules!

All I can do is wait and pray that the supervisor actually looks at my case quickly.

Long winded/all over the place answer, but there it is. back to square one, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Hey LinJoe,

I feel your pain on waiting for another 30 days then being informed to be put on supervisor review. I had the 2nd scan date on March 14th. when it hit 30 day mark( around April 14th ), I called NVC. The first rep told me they're still waiting on the requested document for my checklist. I had to ask her to check again on her computer to know that they did receive my checklist package. However, my package was sitting there for 30 days not being touched. The rep was nice enough to forward it right away to the supervisor for final review. I was devastated when I was told I would have to wait for another 42 days to get a CC.

my husband had Senator John Cornyn in Texas involved in our case on April 15th. We received a letter on April 20th from the Senator stating that NVC received our package on March 14th, and it will take 30-45 days to complete the review. Well, how about the supervisor review they said they're putting me in?? I am really confused. BUT, right as I got off my phone with my husband about the letter from the Senator, I went on CEAC without any hopes, and I saw 3 N/As. I don't even know if I should call to confirm if I get the cc, or it's just a joke again like last time.

I want to think that getting senator Cornyn involved is actually helpful, but my husband received the papaer mail from the senator this morning saying to wait, and now I saw 3 N/As at night time???? I'm scared to call NVC to be honest. They always have a different answer.

To share my story with you. but God bless you, my friend. I hope everything goes smooth for you finally.

as the reply to LinJoe,

I was told to be put under supervisor review on April 14th. my husband had senator involved on April 15th. Then he receieved a letter on April 20th in the morning from senator saying that NVC told him they received our case on March 14th, it takes 30-45days to review. not mentioning about supervisor review at all..... but I checked on April 20th at night and saw 3 N/A... Do I get my hopes up for cc?? my husband and I are scared to call NVC to confirm. He thinks they are gonna mess with our case again.

I need help guys!

I just got off the phone with NVC and I was notified that I would be receiving a checklist for our marriage certificate. Here are the details: my husband is Lebanese, but we had a civil marriage in Cyprus. Our marriage certificate is from Cyprus. The official language in Cyprus is Greek, but all government documents are published in English.

The marriage certificate I provided NVC was the same that was provided to USCIS. USCIS had no problem with it. NVC is telling me that whoever reviewed our documents is saying that we only submitted an "English translation" and not the original native language certificate. I don't have any translations of the marriage certificate because it is only in English, which is the original, which is what was submitted.

The operator recommended that I submit a statement explaining this, but it would still take 30-45 days to review. Does anyone have any advice or anything I can do? They would not allow me to speak to a supervisor and they said they could put in a request for a supervisor to review, but that it would take up to 42 days for a supervisor to get a hold of our case. I asked if I could verbally explain this or if they could explain what I just explained and they said no it has to be submitted and then reviewed in another 30-45 day period. I also asked if my husband could just take the marriage certificate with him to the interview which is what he will be doing anyways and they said no, it has to be submitted to NVC.

Does anyone know of anything I can do?

My heart is completely shattered!

Hey, I understand how you feel right now. Mine checklist was missing the original birth certificate. I think you can try to call every day to speak to a different representative. They usually give different answers. Meanwhile, you should write a statement attach with a proof and mail it to them ASAP (with the checklist barcode or coversheet so they can scan into the system). That's all you can do for now.

Fellows, correct me if I'm giving bad ideas.

I wish you the best.

Contact the place in Cyprus see if they can send you a letter on their letterhead stating they gave you the certificate in English.

Someone posted same thing like last month on VJ I forgot what they did. Can't find the post sorry.

Call NVC also and ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them the situation and what should you do.
