Timeline

I sent my I-130 and it got approved, no RFE

now we are in the final stages, (sent the AOS and IV package)

can we still get RFE ?

thanks!

has this happened to anyone? getting RFE on the final stages?

  • Sent I-130: August 23, 2016

I-130: Approved! wohoo! February 17, 2016

NVC Received: March 07, 2016

Sent IV Package : March 28, 2016 We got a checked list :ranting: - NVC lost English translated police certificate :protest: wuah! delayed us 1 month!

Received Instruction and interview appointment letter- June 29, 2016

Interview in Cairo August 29, 2016 :idea: - Interview went well, Approved :) wohoo!!!! *I (petitioner) attended interview with my husband. Overall interview went well, (with the help of this forum) questions asked to me When did I arrive Egypt? How many times have I visited? Do I live in Egypt? Questions asked to my husband Where did we meet? How did we connect?(this is what she asked, i guess she meant how did we stay in touch) Did we have a wedding?

Visa ready August 31, 2016.

I don't believe RFE is requested after I-130 is approved.

That first step usually verifies that you can indeed apply for a visa.

In the next step, you will deal with the visa application itself; that is, the DS-260 and the affidavit of support, plus the financial and supporting documents, which you will send to the NVC.

Some people get checklists on this stage, but they are usually related to missing or wrong submitted information.

After the application is approved by NVC, the Embassy may request extra information for the interview.

12/04/2019 Permanent GC received

12/18/2019 Oath ceremony – CITIZEN!

Hi,

The stage you are at right now would be NVC stage. They issue checklists, not RFEs, which would arise if there are any errors with your IV and AoS documents.

NVC takes 30-45 days to review both sets of paperwork so you have a wait. At the end of their review, they would mail out a letter or email you on any error(s) which you must fix and return to them...thus starting a new 30-45 days waiting time; sad enough.
