Hello.

I just found out today that my Grandmother is terminally ill. My AoS is pending and i entered on a K1 and am married.

I sent in an i-131 with my AoS (end of Jan 2016). Do I need to fill out another?

Also, I read this advice on one thread. Is this accurate?

"If it's an emergency... go to the local USCIS office (no info pass needed as it is an emergency)."

And also a list of what is needed:

"--A letter from the doctor treating the sick relative
--Your AOS case number
--2 passport photos
--A cheque because you will have to pay $360 for the Emergency AP (You most likely won't need this if it was a while since you filled for AP and they have you in the system but be prepared just in case)"

So all I have to do is get a letter and some photos, and I can rush to the nearest USCIS center?

Also! I'm not sure if my local office is Boston or Providence!

Yes, this is correct.

"Schedule an appointment" with your an address to see what your local office is. (You don't have to go through with the actual scheduling but, just use it to find your office.)

Thank you.

I used your advice and found out my office is Boston. I won't be able to make it to Boston before they close for the day (I live nearly 3 hours' drive away). But I can be in Providence in less than 2 hours. Would they accept me in Providence?

Yeah, in an emergency situation, I'm sure it doesn't matter. Usually they list multiple offices (since I live in NY, they listed both the Queens and Manhattan one).
