My wife got her passport before marriage,we applied for immigrant visa F2a . she may receive interview (mumbai consulate India) letter.till now we have used her old passport for all documents for I130, NVC etc (which is still valid).She has not changed her name after marriage.Is it mandatory to update passport after marriage to get immigrant visa to USA

It's not mandatory for her to change her last name to yours. She can still keep her old last name if she wants to but, the decision hers.

10/14/2016: Submitted DS-260
