How long is a signed form good for?

Is there any kind of time limit on how long signed documents are good for? My fiance and I just received NOA2 for our I-129F, but it could still be several months before his interview. I'm worried if I send the affidavit of support now, it might be too old when he goes to the interview. But I don't want to wait too long to mail it, because he might not get it in time. He lives in Albania, and it can take over a month to send mail there, even with priority shipping.

I've heard people say 6 months, but I don't know where that number came from. Does 6 months sound like a good estimate? Did any of you use documents that were older?

Also, does he have to have the original signed affidavit of support, or can I just email him a copy? Because that would be so much easier.

Thank you everyone!
