Hi everyone,

I'll start off by hoping no one has to go through the same ordeal as me. My Canadian wife and I married in Oct 2015, decided to file AOS, ead, ap etc. In early December we received noa dated December 9th. Our attorney said it would take 3 months to receive advance parole and the ead.

Mid January we received notice to do finger prints, that went smoothly. We would check the status of our cases online but they hadn't been updated since December. We figured the govt workers were too lazy to update the system. As our 90 days since receipt came closer we began to worry because we hadn't received any updates online or through the mail. A week before our 90 days we called uscis and they said its processing and must wait 90 days before filing a request.

Well 90 days passed and we waited an additional week, still no update online and nothing in the mail. So we called uscis again and provided a receipt number. This time the receipt number we provided was from the ead form. The sl uscis agent said the receipt number is not showing in their system! But they can see all of our other forms... We filled a appointment at the local uscis office. They were able to find the ead form on one of their systems but it wasn't linked to all systems. They said they spoke to MSC national benefits center and they'll fix the computer glitch in a week.

It's been two weeks since then and still there's no update online, nothing in the mail, no updates on service requests we made just prior/after visiting the local uscis office.

Has anyone heard of such a thing happening? How much longer could this take? Any suggestions?

It's horrible because my wife cannot get a ssn for taxes or to even get a drivers license! She's pretty much locked up in home for the past few months, hopeless.

Welcome to the forum.

Perhaps you need the assistance of the CIS Ombudsman: https://www.dhs.gov/cisomb-faqs ?

Report back what transpires.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
