What type of family? As a permanent resident, you can only petition for spouses or unmarried children.

Yes, you can complete everything from abroad and send the petition to the Chicago lockbox (I recommend using DHL, FedEx, etc.) But, remember that these petitions are for family reunification and as a LPR, you must spend the majority of your time in the US.

Ahh ok, yes, then you have to send out two packets. One petition for your wife, and one for your son. They can be in the same envelope but just make sure they are two different forms with supporting documents.

Yes i want to apply for my wife and 3 years old son. I have been living in US since 1994 as permanent resident. Its been only last 2 years im outside US. Thanku for the reply

if you have lived outside the US for 2 years you no longer have a green card. It is automatically revoked if you spend more than 12 months outside the US. You realize with a green card you have to live here, correct?

OP said he has a travel document (permission to travel, which allows you to stay out of the US for up to 2 years).
