We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number NBC*00XXXXXXX. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by August 29, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

FYI --- Had interview on the 16th and case status was updated on 18th. Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed

I had the oath ceremony on Thursday! There were 353 of us there, from lots of different countries! The ceremony was scheduled for noon. I got there a little early, and the line was already huge!

Checking in started about 12:30

The judge arrived about 1:15pm, ceremony was done about 2pm

Then we had to get our certificates. I was near the back, but was done about 2:20pm.

I am most excited to be done with dealing with immigration! After 17 years of living here I'm finally a citizen! I'm applying for my passport on Monday - and I registered to vote as soon as I left the ceremony. There were a bunch of volunteers on hand to sign you up.

Oh, and I had an NBC number, if anyone is curious. Hopeful for those on you stuck - it must be super frustrating! I hope you see some movement soon.

On J visas.  Spouse won DV lottery while in US.  Did AOS from the US.

 

Boston field office, GC holder for 10 years.

Citizenship received in 2016, took ~5 months from application to passport.

Spouse received citizenship in 2019

Yes I did, it says I'm scheduled for an interview.

I was worried too but I was told that USCIS is behind.. so patience my friend.

I got interview notice 2 months after Fprints. Just hang in there.

I have a NBC receipt number and been stuck at the "Case is in line for an interview" status since 9th of June. Anybody else stuck in the same situation? I have called up USCIS twice now and all they say is that they are waiting for an interview date to be available. Is this a normal timeframe for Des Moines?

Our interview was on the August 16th. Our online status changed on August 18th stating that our oath letter was mailed. Then we received the letter in the mail today, Aug. 22nd, that stated he is scheduled for his oath ceremony on Sept. 1st. Congratulations to you !!

I have a NBC receipt number and been stuck at the "Case is in line for an interview" status since 9th of June. Anybody else stuck in the same situation? I have called up USCIS twice now and all they say is that they are waiting for an interview date to be available. Is this a normal timeframe for Des Moines?

It looks like Des Moines might be one of the slower field offices. If you check at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do - select Des Moines from the top drop-down box - as of June 30th, they are still processing N-400 applications from October 15, 2015.

I feel your pain. I thought Charleston was bad. They're currently processing from January, and that's sped up since I first started watching it a few months ago. However, my husband has the notorious IOE application, so at this point I can't tell if we're lagging so badly because of the IOE delay situation, or because the field office is slow.

I don't think the website is accurate because I checked mine (Memphis, TN) and it says they are processing applications from January 12, 2016 which is not true because I filed for my N-400 in April and I'm almost done with my application. My interview was on 29th June which I passed. I am just waiting for my oath ceremony letter. They mailed it today :dancing:. So, I'm not sure how often they update their website. I think this will give you come hope :thumbs:

It looks like Des Moines might be one of the slower field offices. If you check at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do - select Des Moines from the top drop-down box - as of June 30th, they are still processing N-400 applications from October 15, 2015.

I feel your pain. I thought Charleston was bad. They're currently processing from January, and that's sped up since I first started watching it a few months ago. However, my husband has the notorious IOE application, so at this point I can't tell if we're lagging so badly because of the IOE delay situation, or because the field office is slow.

I have a NBC receipt number and been stuck at the "Case is in line for an interview" status since 9th of June. Anybody else stuck in the same situation? I have called up USCIS twice now and all they say is that they are waiting for an interview date to be available. Is this a normal timeframe for Des Moines?

Hi Heidi,

I just got the text today that my case status was updated and they have mailed my oath ceremony letter today :dance:. Can't wait now

I just became a US citizen today! Visajourney and everyone sharing their experience and support here have been a great help in my journey to achieve US citizenship.
I wish for a speedy and smooth processing on everyone's application. Good luck to y'all!

Oath Ceremony experience:
Checked in at the USCIS office 30mins prior to my schedule. Handed my letter and GC to the officer and he gave me a packet and a number for my seat. There were about 39 people schedule to take oath and I think only 1 didn't show up. Ceremony didn't start until over 30mins later than scheduled because we waited for some people who were late! You'll think it's big day, people should be on time.. But oh well.. The whole ceremony lasted for less than 30mins and we were handed our most awaited naturalization certificate!
Just to add, our families were allowed to take pictures while taking pledge of allegiance and receiving certificate.
