Had my interview today and got recommended for approval. The officer was nice and the questions easy. Hoping to get an oath ceremony assigned soon.

I'd appreciate if someone could update my timeline. It's difficult to do via mobile. Thanks!

Congrats to you!

All of you in the same benefits center? You can check the May filers for an appropriate timeline. Also, if you had an IOE number while your friends had an NBC number that could maybe explain the delay. And I have been waiting after Fingerprints from May 18th

Hang tight ! I was worried for a while too. But things are moving along.

However, you're a May filer. Have you posted on N-400 May 2016 Filers ? You might get a more accurate timeline there.

Hubby had his interview today and he got called in fairly quickly.

FYI.....His N-400 was filed based on 5 year residency and he brought all documents required on the interview letter. However, he was asked to provide proof of his address and that we were living together. She requested to see bank statements, drivers license and any supporting documents that we live together. He did not have bank statements with him, however, he did have 5 yrs of tax returns and was able to pull pay stubs and his W-2 from an online source. She then wanted to see and make a copy of his health insurance card. So as you can see they did require more documentation than was stated in the interview letter.

They asked him the following questions:

Who is the vice president of the United States?

Who is the commander and chief of the military?

Who vetoes bills?

What is the supreme law of the land?

How many amendments does the constitution have?

Who makes federal laws?

Then he had to read:

What country is to the north of the United States?

Then he had to write:

Canada is to the north of the United States

Then they went over the yes/no questions from the N-400 form.

He received his letter and was recommended for approval. She told him that he would receive his oath ceremony letter in one or two weeks.

Hello Heidi, thank you very much for your reply. It did make me feel somewhat relieved from my tension. Since it had been more than a month since USCIS updated my status on their website, I started to worry. But now as you said, they updated your profile when they sent you the letter, I feel less worried. I will be expecting a status change in next couple of days or weeks. It's going to be 2 months on 29th Aug since my interview. I really hope to get the letter soon. I'm desperately waiting for it because of three reason. First is to vote this year. Second, I want to visit my home country. So as soon as I swear in, I will apply for the passport and then for the visa. And third and the most important is that I want to file a petition for my parents asap. I have my fingers crossed. So lets hope for the best. Thank you very much for the information. I really appreciate your response. I will keep you updated with any status change :)

Hello Gagan, thank you and I really hope you haven't missed any letter from them. All I know was there was one unoccupied seat before we started but I wasn't sure if that person came in in the middle of the ceremony. I don't know when do they have oath ceremonies scheduled but from what I've read on other Memphis applicants timeline here (about 4 people) from this year and last years were mostly a month or two from interview to oath ceremony. I received my in line for oath status on June 23rd and oath schedule notification on July 12th and the actual letter a week or less than 10 days after. If you just received the in line notification on July 14th, it's very possible that you're not the person who missed the oath on that day. I don't think it hurts to call, if you're really worried, maybe you can call USCIS to make sure they haven't sent you an oath letter yet? I believe the online status update for In Line for Oath says, you'll receive your oath letter within 45 days from recommended approval. Hang in there, it's possibly on its way. Hope you get your oath schedule soon! Good luck. :)
