I have my interview on a Saturday, its been 34 days, and no news, no update. The status update is stuck with the interview notice. The file is probably stuck somewhere in the bureaucracy. The process was smooth up until this point. I don't know any reason why you'll be stuck for an oath? anyone any experience?

Denver was supposedly the fastest processing field office!

IOE number and biometric schedule was completed on 05/18.

Like everyone else im stuck in a same situation. So this morning i decided to call them and talk to level 2 officer and see whats the status on it since it wont let me log in on ELIS account since past Sunday.

Apparently my case is still pending background check so i asked what will be next step she said call us back in 2 months.I confirmed 2 months? She said yes 8 weeks.

Really its been almost 3 months since i did my bio and they still need 2 months. Who knows after 2 months they ask me to wait 30 more days. Im losing hope to VOTE this year. I spent more than half of my life in this great country. No crimes and background is taking forever. I dont know who to blame, the new Integrated Operating Environment or background check.

If we look at processing time, Houston office is Nov 04th 2015 as of may 30th which means 7 months. So let see hiw far this case will take.

I just emailed my congressman Pete Olson. Let see if i get any positive outcome from him.

I'm losing hope to vote, too :(.. I read on the USCIS site that more than 60 days is unusual and that I should contact them if it's been more than that, I last heard from them literally the day I had my biometrics appointment (may 20th) so I tried to fill up the form and it was rejected saying I'm within the normal time frame. Is it unusual or is it normal, never know!

I was stuck a month after interview before my oath letter was sent I was interviewed in June. Everything was fast before my oath. Just hang in there.

Hi Heidi,

Congrats on becoming a US citizen. My name is Gagan. I see that your local field office was Memphis, TN...same as mine. Our timelines are very close. I sent my package on 10th April. Biometrics were on 11th May and my interview was scheduled on 29th June, almost a week after you. I passed the interview and my application was recommended for approval. My USCIS account says that I am in line for the oath ceremony and I will receive the letter within 30 days of its mailing date. It was updated on 14th July but I haven't heard anything after that. I check my account every day to see if there's any update but all in vain. I have been following your timeline since your field office is same as mine and our timelines are almost identical. I was assuming that I would also get the same oath ceremony date since Memphis is not a very big place as compared to other cities & there are very few applicants like us, they would do the oath ceremony for all of them at a time to knock things out quickly. But I did not get the letter. In your post you said that 1 person did not show up in the oath ceremony. I am afraid that my letter had gotten lost somewhere (since it's been so long) and that missing person might be me :cry2: because I don't think anyone would miss such a big day of their life, specially when they have worked so hard for this and have been waiting impatiently since forever. So it's highly unlikely that a person would wanna miss it, unless any external factor plays in. I truly hope that I am wrong but you know your mind wanders all over in such situations and you start thinking negatively. You just cant help it. This is the last thing I would want to happen to my application. I just have few questions from you to help me relieve from my tension. I am sure you checked your USCIS account frequently to get updates while waiting for the letter. They must have updated about you being in-line for oath ceremony like me. So my question is that once USCIS sends us letter, do they update our USCIS account again about that or not? If yes, then how long after that you received the letter? Did they update your profile to let you know that they mailed it? The reason I am asking this is to make sure they haven't sent me the letter yet. How often do they conduct oath ceremonies in Memphis, if you know? Do you think its a good idea to contact USCIS or should I wait? My questions list will go on, so I must stop here. Any other information will be greatly appreciated. Oh God, this is getting all over my mind right now.

Thanks in advance.

I just became a US citizen today! Visajourney and everyone sharing their experience and support here have been a great help in my journey to achieve US citizenship.
I wish for a speedy and smooth processing on everyone's application. Good luck to y'all!

Oath Ceremony experience:
Checked in at the USCIS office 30mins prior to my schedule. Handed my letter and GC to the officer and he gave me a packet and a number for my seat. There were about 39 people schedule to take oath and I think only 1 didn't show up. Ceremony didn't start until over 30mins later than scheduled because we waited for some people who were late! You'll think it's big day, people should be on time.. But oh well.. The whole ceremony lasted for less than 30mins and we were handed our most awaited naturalization certificate!
Just to add, our families were allowed to take pictures while taking pledge of allegiance and receiving certificate.

Posted

Hello Gagan, thank you and I really hope you haven't missed any letter from them. All I know was there was one unoccupied seat before we started but I wasn't sure if that person came in in the middle of the ceremony. I don't know when do they have oath ceremonies scheduled but from what I've read on other Memphis applicants timeline here (about 4 people) from this year and last years were mostly a month or two from interview to oath ceremony. I received my in line for oath status on June 23rd and oath schedule notification on July 12th and the actual letter a week or less than 10 days after. If you just received the in line notification on July 14th, it's very possible that you're not the person who missed the oath on that day. I don't think it hurts to call, if you're really worried, maybe you can call USCIS to make sure they haven't sent you an oath letter yet? I believe the online status update for In Line for Oath says, you'll receive your oath letter within 45 days from recommended approval. Hang in there, it's possibly on its way. Hope you get your oath schedule soon! Good luck. :)

Had my interview today and got recommended for approval. The officer was nice and the questions easy. Hoping to get an oath ceremony assigned soon.

I'd appreciate if someone could update my timeline. It's difficult to do via mobile. Thanks!
