Hi ,

My husband who is a US citizen has filed "I-130" petition for me (Indian) on 5th Jan 2016. He filed it in Phoenix Arizona and we received mail stating that it is routed to Texas service center.

After that we haven't received any further communication on progress as well the USCIS status tracker says " that Case was received".

Now the question I have is that my husband has recently relocated to Jacksonville , Florida. However the residential address we gave at time of filing I-130 was that of Arizona .

1. So should we update the new address (of florida) in USCIS site?

2. Will the change of address from Arizona to Florida ,inturn cause the change of processing Service center ? Currently our case is with Texas Service Center.

3. Will it anyway impact the timeline for Approval of our petition at USCIS ? I believe the approval process takes 5-6 months since Jan .. so if we change the address to Florida

(from Arizona) will it take another 6 months starting from today or is it adjusted within the January timeline?

All suggestions and advice on the same are more than welcome. Looking for ways to be with my husband soon ...though the wait with USCIS seems to be long :(

2. Will the change of address from Arizona to Florida ,inturn cause the change of processing Service center ? Currently our case is with Texas Service Center. NO

3. Will it anyway impact the timeline for Approval of our petition at USCIS ? I believe the approval process takes 5-6 months since Jan .. so if we change the address to Florida

(from Arizona) will it take another 6 months starting from today or is it adjusted within the January timeline? NO. Why. You are n the queue expect 5 to 7 months. Please just change your address.

how can I change my service center? but if I can't, can I withdraw my petition and file it again.

You can’t. You can withdraw and file it again, but for what purpose? Your new file may end up going to the same service center.

Oh Thank you so much. The reason is, I live in Texas, as at the time of filling, i went ahead to fill my mailing address at maryland and my physical address in texas. with this i felt this was why it was taken to califonia center. furthermore considering the processing time of both, texas is shorter and i feel i have made a mistake. kindly advice on my situation.

Just change your adress with USCIS. No need to withdraw your petition.
