My fiancee filed for a tourist visa before to come and see me, but was denied.

So I am curious does she need to go through the whole process again for the k1? Redoing fingerprints, ds160 etc or does she not need to do certain things this time around?

Also does the consular see that a person has applied before, would it be bad to say yes she applied for tourist but was to actually be with me?

Essentially yes, while all your 'dealings' with the DoS and USCIS are known to them, they can't be used interchangeably, if anything most of the processes have a validity period, so might not be interchangeable, (such as medical reports, statements of intent, etc.)

We went through the same issue. My fiancee first applied for a tourist visa and got denied so we decided to try the K1 visa. We had to start from scratch. We are half way through the process and kinda confused on weather or not he would have to get his fingerprints done again at the VAC offices.
