Why can't Ansy have mine? lol, flames, you cheered me up a bit :)

I just called (11:30pm), and the guy told me they are running a bit behind this month and are still scheduling them, and I should definitely call back Monday or Tuesday. I'm trying not to let the "definitely"get me too excited. I will update tomorrow night if I can resist that long.

You would think they would do the in order, but probably hard to do, as not jst one person does them, probably tossed around the office, used as paper airplanes etc. So if u get susan doing urs and she is a smoker, thus more breaks!! Your fortunate and get Ansy on the job, non smoker, total professional, ur bound to get a quicker interview date!!

i just posted-- i called again and they said it's april 5th! my husband called a few hours later just to confirm, haha.

yay.

call again? maybe you received the same lazy guy i originally did.

Hey

Just a question - when you guys are saying you're calling the NVC - what # are you calling? Does it end up at the Montreal consulate? The question I'm asking is because any time I call Montreal Consulate directly I don't get any of this information about when they schedule interviews or that I should call back etc. They basically say "it's waiting for an interview to be scheduled...bye"

From your signatures I see that you're all I-129F filers and maybe thats the difference as I filed DCF. I was just wondering why the inconsistency and maybe I should be calling the NVC (if anyone has the # I'd appreciate it).

Thanks

Darryl

As DCF, ur stuff stays at MTl does it not? and they schedule the interview?? If you went the normal cr-1 (ir-1) route, NVC schedules the interviews, thats why 1 can phone them and find out ur date. Mtl doesnt even know (those that went the regualr route) one exists until NVC assigns the cr-1 interview date.

Mtl appears to be very slow when it comes to assigning intyerview dates, and not very helpful on the phone. I have no clue about DCF, so calling NVC can't hurt, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I dont think NVC has anything to do with DCF at all..........hence the term. However , with the changes that have affected the DCFers, who knows now. If I understand all Ive read though, DFC petitions are going to the USCIS offices and following processing there are being sent back to the consulates thereby skipping the NVC. My guess would be that consulates dont have any info where those petitions are in the processing and sadly all you can do is wait and keep calling Montreal.

Alll the best to you and don't let Montreal bring ya down

Hi Our Mao,

Congratulations to you! I noticed we have the same completion date. It took a month for NVC to give an update on our case. Last night, I called NVC and the automated machine said that our case was sent to Montreal last 3/15/07. I will call the Embassy tomorrow to find out if there's an interview date for us. Did you call NVC and talked to a rep regarding your case status? I asked my husband to call them and he got fed up waiting on the line so he hung up the phone. Maybe I'll just do it myself, LOL. Anyway, goodluck on your interview. Post a review when you get the medical, I'd really like to know what to do. Take care!
