April 2016 AOS Filers

Hello Guys i will be sending my AOS this Thursday . I-130 fees + I-485 fees can ONE check ($1,490) cover for all fees or are they expecting 2 separate checks? ($420 & & $1070)

i was told by a legal Attorney to send one check for $1490..

This waiting is crazy if and only if we all would be applying from the same place we would be sitting outside the USCIS office and sipping beer as soon as the mailman steps outside of that building ambush him and take our letters from him...absolutely no time lost in mail transit....hahahahha just a thought!!!!

Decided on a earlier walk-in for biometrics this morning. When stepped in, showed my appointment letter to the security guy and indicated him that my appointment is for next week. He said that's ok we're not too busy this morning so I can do it.

He handed me a form I needed to fill out . The security staff then checked it and gave me a number. Once called you get your finger prints and picture taken.

I was there for about 1 hour from start to finish and that was with about 20 people in front of me.

For people who got married and changed their name, bring your marriage certificate as well.

Now waiting for the EAD/AP card. And online case status does not recognize my receipt numbers still.

I was able to do an early walk-in for biometrics at Bronx ASC this morning. The security guard only looked on the time and not the date on the letter. My appointment was for May 26.

Like you, I am unable to check my case status online.

Yes it could be allot worse I could be that person on the May filers page almost a year and still pending... Your time line seems semi similar to mine with regards to the day number that things occurred on... Glad you were able to walk in and on note I think I may go into hibernation for a few months maybe ill reawaken with a GC in my mailbox

Haha! Yeah, I wish too! Well, just wait for the letter and then if you want, do a walk-in in Nashville! (Just to make sure that you're really supposed to be in Nashville. I thought I'm gonna have mine somewhere else and was surprised I got this location.) It was very easy and quick and the people there are very nice! You'll feel like the case is moving forward, although I think it's just more psychological. They say that by walk-in it doesn't move faster.

i called uscis back even tho they were digging there heels in and not telling me they've issued an appointment for me or not yet i did get transfered tho. they apoligized to me multiple times over for the website saying something different that how they actaullly handle biometrics appointments... i basically just kept telling them its misleading and if it was explained correctly i wouldnt of had to call today and i kept insisting it's there mess up to make up for the time i spent on hold that they should look my stuff up lol i didnt get too far but they did say if i dont receive anything by next wednesday to call back and they will investigate

i dont know gpiper done early walk in and he got his EAD/AP approved last week despite having a RFE... He filed end of march so maybe early walk-ins do help it go slightly faster

Hm... hopefully then!! It would be great! With my RFE I can just sit and wait though.. I don't stress anymore though. There's nothing we can do about it anyway..

My Biometric was supposed to be next monday 23rd but i took a chance and did a walkin this morning .

It was smooth and fast , the staff were wonderful and courteous ...

Every thing was completed within 30 minutes..

So now waiting again for the EAD first and interview later down the line

Okay, I haven't seen anyone mentioning that they have receiving anything like this but I just got a letter "Notice to Applicant" today in mail.
It is about the missing i-693 which I didn't submit because I wanted to get my application going since my F1 status was ending mid-April.

"You will be required to submit a valid, completed, and signed Form I-693 at a later date. Please follow these instructions:
- If you receive an interview notice in the mail, you must bring your updated Form I-693 to your interview appointment.
- If your case does not require an interview, you will receive a Request for Evidence for Form I-693 with instructions on where to send Form I-693.

DO NOT MAIL DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME."

A bit annoying since I have that form done, sealed and ready to go... just wondering how long will it take to hear from them again? Letter was dated on May 11th, two days before biometrics.
Hopefully this means fast processing

At least you know that the next thing you get in the mail will be either an RFE for your medical update which will result in instant GC or your interview date... If that was me I would be hoping for RFE so I could skip the interview Congrats your onto the next stage Edited May 16, 2016 by Moslund

Got my RFE in the mail dated May 11. It says that we didn't submit proof of income of my husband (applicant) like pay stubs for the last 6 months, etc.

What did you guys included as proof of income? I attached the two latest pay stubs so I guess they needed more proof.

6months of pay stubs, 3 years worth of tax returns and 6months on bank statements which show the direct deposit coming in from his employer

As proof of income we included 3 years of tax returns, 6 paystubs and an employment letter stating his current income and employment.

We got an RFE as we couldn't include the tax return from 2015. In our RFE response we have included only 1 tax return (2015), the same employment letter and in total the 12 most recent pay stubs to show that he in fact IS making enough income to sponsor me.
