Done with my biometrics today at USCIS San Francisco. Went there an hour early and I didn't have any problems. I was done before 10AM, but until now I still can't check my status online. I know that there's an issue with case numbers online but it's just a bit frustrating not to be able to check what's going on with my case. I guess I'll just have to keep on checking my mailbox for updates. I'm a bit worried if I get RFE on my medical. I didn't submit I-693, I just submitted the one I had back in my home country (DS3025) which was done last Dec 2015. I was reading from other groups/forums that they get RFE on ther medical even if it hasn't expired yet. So, now I don't know what to expect in my mailbox.

I think you need to still do the medical... the ds3025 gets copied into the medical when you get it done but you are required to get a TB test done for your medical (even tho I got a TB test for my original medical it was requirement to still get retested) I don't think sending the ds3025 vaccination sheet alone cuts the requirement for a medical it needs to be in the sealed Uscis envelope the dr give you... Call Uscis and ask if can result in a RFE... if they say you need 1 done get it done asap (took me 2weeks to get an appointment I called around 5 places that was there first appointment some places were as long as 4weeks) so that way when the RFE does come you can send it out straight away... I have also read that as long as the ds3025 sheet is in there they don't stress to much as long as you take your medical to your interview... The reason why I'm say call Uscis first is cause $300 is allot to waste on a medical if you don't need 1 and the reason I say if you need 1 to get it done asap is cause it can take upto a few weeks to get an appointment unless you get lucky and get 1 within a few days you wouldn't want anymore time delays

Sorry to hear you have a RFE, Let's hope it's minor, a lot lately have been (incorrectly) about the I-864. All you can do is wait for the letter and then respond. Why they don't email the reason I just don't know! Fine if they want you to submit a response with the original letter they post (apparently they come in a variety of colours too! Pink, blue and mine was yellow) but at least you can get started on collecting the evidence before then.

Piece of good news I can give you is that although mine was a RFIE where the clock should re set the 90 days, it didn't as I received communication that they approved the EAD so only a minor delay.

Hope it will be the same when you reply to USCIS.

Finally, I get the biometric appointment letter today.

However, I haven't still received the NOA hard copies yet.

Is it possible to get the biometric appointment letter first?

I don't understand my situation...

Everyday I check the mailbox.. I am so glad to get my appointment mail.

But I want to know where my NOA hard copies are...

We received the RFE today, we sent the I184 without my husbands signature!

Stupid, stupid, stupid but at least it's an easy fix :)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I would call and inquire into it.. Your biometrics appointment letter should come roughly 2-3weeks AFTER you receive the NOA hard copies in the mail... I'm suspecting there lost in the mail... It typically goes txt/email>hard copies>biometrics appointment letter>interview letter Edited by Moslund

A couple of days ago, I called the USCIS service center. They said that they can't send the duplicate now but if I will not get the hard copies until 30days, let them know. And then they can investigate what happen to my hard copies. I am waiting until 30days since I got the text and emails. haha Because 30days will come soon.

Still no biometrics letter for me..hope it comes this week! It seems most people have theirs around the month mark after they filed, and I've got to find a way to Nashville as we don't have a car :( Finally able to check my case status as well and it says received for all of them...does it normally change to "Fingerprint fee received" before biometrics letter is sent?

The status on your account begins with fingerprint fee received, it's the only one that does so there hasn't been a change. What you will get are text and email plus letter in the post telling you date and time of bio appointment.

Hang in there it will arrive.

I'm going to bet on Mon or Tues of next week.

When you say "I have also read that as long as the ds3025 sheet is in there they don't stress to much as long as you take your medical to your interview." , that puts me in trouble, because in my country, we don't get copies of the whole medical, except for the vaccination records (not even that, because the doctor is dumb so we have to ask for the vaccination record at the embassy if we think of it ourselves, otherwise we'd receive neither). That means that if they expect me to bring the medical to the interview, they also expect me to get it fully done again here before that.

I imagine that people being asked to get their medical done again or get a transcript done here doesn't happen in the majority of cases and if it does, I imagine there's some reason for it...

The instructions on the 485 were clear that K-1 filers aren't required to get a medical done again if the one done at home is less than 1 year old. It also says specifically that only the vaccination record may be included with the application. I say this mostly as wishful thinking, hoping that those RFE people are getting aren't for the medical, because I really don't wanna spend that much money getting it done again (not to mention that I have a irrational terror of needles and I'm not looking forward to doing that again  )

I believe as long as your DS-3025 was complete (the box saying US vaccination requirements complete is checked) then you should be ok. They also should already have your medical from when you handed it over at your interview. I found this in an old thread, so will repost here:

Do you need an I-693 immunization sheet? Is my DS-3025 filled out properly?

Look at your DS-3025. If it has the ALL of the following items, you don't need an I-693 (Adults 19-49 yrs old).

1. Shots marked with a date (at least one of a series)

  • MMR (two are required but if you have "insufficient time interval" Code B in the last column, then you get a waiver)
  • Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP (One date must be no longer than 10 years ago)
  • Varicella (Either a check by "Vaccine" with a date, OR a check by "Varicella History" if you had chickenpox. History gets you a waiver)
  • Influenza (during flu season)** see note below because you may be okay without it. If it is not flu season, the waiver in the last column is Code F.
  • Everything else marked "not age appropriate" Code A, insufficient time interval B, not flu season F, contraindicated C...things that allow a waiver.

NOTE: If you have shots missing and no waiver for them, stop here and see a Civil Surgeon. "Most of the shots" isn't complete. A note from your home country doctor won't count. All shots must be recorded on the DS-3025 or waived. You will have to take your doctor note to a Civil Surgeon and get him to record it on an official form.

2. The new form has a summary section. It may be marked:

"US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (Requesting a Blanket Waiver)"

But instructions I have seen says it is only marked for immigrant visas. I know In London they leave section 2 unmarked at K1 medicals.

3. Signed and dated by the doctor

Hope this helps alleviate any stress :)

well, my DS-3025 looks good then!! Since I did ask my embassy to get me the copies, I did send the copy of the DS-3025. Also, they SHOULD (although we all know how good they are at losing stuff  ) have copies themselves of the whole thing anyway. I just hope everything goes normal and thanks for the tip!!!

BTW! Did anybody have any weird experience with their doctors in their countries??? Like mine was kinda bad, the doctor was weird, his secretary was evil and I had to file a complaint at the embassy at the end of the whole process. I'm just asking out of curiosity and being nosy I guess :secret:
