Sorry to hear that Da&De - I hope things will move faster for you after this small hiccup.

Thinking of walking in to the biometrics center today - I was told by my lawyer I need to take my marriage certificate, did you all take yours?

i was checking out the febuary thread for AOS fillers and it appears some of them already have had there interviews or are have receieved the interview date for the next 2-3 weeks so thats good to know hopefully in 2months or so we should be getting them letters in ourself

I dont have my bio appointment yet but i have been to the uscis before under an info pass appointment... i dont see why you would need your marriage certificate unless your ID is your maiden name and you filled as your married name.. they check your ID with the name on the letter so if the 2 last names dont match then having your marriage certificate would clear up any questions but if both names match on your ID and the surname you filed under then i dont see why you need your marriage certificate

They said they received it and rejected it on April 6 and sent it back

And also that I have to check with my post office

So I'll go there soon to check

Genuinely sorry that you received bad news. I know they say rejected and immediately you think the worst. It could just be a minor administrative error which can be rectified easily. Remember they have sent back application because cheques have been written I correctly or abbreviated! Like someone said it might just be a missing signature!

I do hope you stick around this board though as you have been supporting lots of people on here when they received news / letters. You will have a case number now so I hope they speed it up for you when you do resubmit.

Stay positive and be even more determined despite this setback ?

Yep, I take our marriage certificate everywhere with me if I have to proof my identity since my Finnish passport is still with my maiden name. Haven't had any probs.

If you are unsure take it with you. Better to be safe than sorry

Da&de hopfully you can locate your package fairly fast without too much hassle from usps. As some people have previous said I'm sure it was something very minor and easily rectified....you'll be catching up to us in no time

My incredible story

I'm actually laughing my ### out today

they called me in the morning and told me that my package was rejected on April 6 and sent back to me and they told me to check with my local post office.

I went to the post office and they told me that THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO cause I don't have the tracking number

I called back to uscis

the girl told me that they usually don't have tracking number for packages that don't have important docs like GC or EAD/AP

but still they called me back from tier 2

i yelled at the officer

and he told me that it was rejected due to the faxt that I hadn't signature on one of my forms.

(I checked the scanned docs that I resubmitted - everything is fine, signatures are where they should be, but whatever)

I asked whether I could resubmit my docs without medical examination as long as I don't have this sealed envelope anymore

They told me that i still have to submit med exam docs eventually (which is fine, I called the medical office I had the exam at and they told me they'll print a copy for me)

and also I asked about the check, whether it may be for $1070 or it should be two separate checks for $985 and $85. he said $1070.

so I'll resubmit my docs tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and I will have several questions for you soon when I check all my properly SIGNED docs.

and will join May fillers, but I won't leave you guys, you are soooo nice

I know it's not good to yell at them over the phone but to be fair you've been shoved a around and they weren't giving you actual answers... I bet it felt good to let out some of that frustration out on them

One of the benefits of having the NOA1 is that you can finally get a driver's lisence. Used it to get mine today.

Some states allow it .I am in NC they gave me u just have to asked your local DMV.

Just to add they look at all your immigration docs.

Agreed with Blessboy ! DMV each branch is totally different. Here in Anaheim, CA, they told me after the second time trying to walk in for the driving permit license (just so I can start learning how to drive at this driving school which I have already paid for it long ago ?) Anyway they strictly need my SSN ?
