Banks ask for SSNs so does credit cards and medical but if you read the ITIN that can be used in the ssn box as long as it financial related... When I went to get put on the bank account the bank told me that if you don't have an ssn you can get an ITIN which serves the same purpose by who in the US doesn't have an ssn almost everyone has 1 that's why they require it but they do accept ITIN as a replacement... ITINs are only for people who aren't eligible for SSNs

Ah, okey. Good to know!

Yes, i want to try to do that. As long as i get the letter before the 12th. The office is two hours away from me, so as soon as i get the letter i will call them and ask if i can come in as a "walker" ;)

My husband took leave from the 12th , so we can attempt his little brothers graduation. We have to drive there -16 hours, with two little kids -. His entire family will be there, which he hasnt seen in three years..

The office is in montana, no one lives in montana and so the office is never busy. Technically it shouldnt be a problem!!

Seems like a reasonable reason to request a change in appointment date. Luckily for me the office is only 30 minutes away so not too much of a bother. Those travelling further I can imagine it might get a but tense but I do think the officers there try and fit everyone in if they can.

I had quite a pleasant experience given what you hear about government employees!!

What could be the reason you need walk in early? And how early is reasonable? I have my appointment on 10th May, but if I show up on Monday is that fine? Would it speed up your case if you were to just show up?

Well in our case we would not have been able to make the scheduled appointment for family reasons of my wife. You do kind if chance it but they usually don't have an issue with genuine cases where you need to go earlier.

I doubt it speeds up your case very much at all, maybe a few days at the most! We just didn't want to go to our appointment after the scheduled date as we thought that would cause more trouble than going in early. The worst they could do is turn us away and then we would've needed to reschedule for a later date.

As you can see not quite mastered the art of multi quoting!!

Lolllll I don't get that functionality either. Did you have a reason to go in 10 days earlier? Did they ask you? I may try my luck and go in on Tuesday, it's only 20 mins away.

Does rescheduling your bio to be earlier speed any of the other paperwork up? I'm only 3miles away from my local office... If it sped paperwork up then I would take a cancellation in a heart beat

I really dont think it would speed up the process. I just really want to get it done before we leave rather than rescheduling for june! Because it will slow down the process even more for sure!

I am positive though, that it will come maybe tomorrow or early next week!

Yes we would have missed the original date due to family commitment and only my wife could have taken me to the appointment. They didn't actually ask me for a reason why I came in early although I started off with a big smile and apologised for coming in early. They seemed fine with it.

They may ask you to wait until all the other scheduled appointments for that particular part of the day have been seen to which is only fair as they have come on the correct day. When I went (first thing in the morning) it wasn't overly busy so they saw me straight away.

Helps how you approach them I think.

I agree I doubt it speeds things up by very much, however you certainly don't want to have to take a date further along than the scheduled date as who knows when you will be rescheduled. That might delay things a bit for you.

Hope it works out for you as I think you have a pretty good reason.

For all those people who are pissed waiting.. I was too!! I got my biometrics letter today, but look at my timeline!! Lots of people here got it so much sooner and sent it later than me.. And of course, I knew they would schedule it for a week when I can't.. but I'll have to make it work. I don't want to reschedule... And I have to drive two hours for that.. yay! :dancing:
