Moslund - how did you get your driving license so quickly? In New York I had to apply for my learners permit, then take a 5 hour course and the wait time for driving tests is 3 months!!

The NY DMV backlog is as crazy as USCIS! Husband got permit June 15 took the class the next day and the next available road test was mid September.

The NY DMV backlog is as crazy as USCIS! Husband got permit June 15 took the class the next day and the next available road test was mid September.

Yeah that's what they're telling me too. I have the driving course today but the next available road test is October... Crazy.

Yeah that's what they're telling me too. I have the driving course today but the next available road test is October... Crazy.

That's crazy long to wait for a road test... At the particular DMV I go to in Norfolk you can show up on the day and they will let you do the road test... I guess there not as many people trying to do road test here vs in NY

Here you have to schedule it AND if you're over a certain age they require a 6 hours drivers education course if you're getting your liscense for the first time over the age of 21 I believe. Luckily my husbands canadian DL transferred right over, they just took it and gave him a Texas one.

But yeah, even when I got my DL as a USC, I still had to wait a week or two just to take the test as there weren't any available appointments lol.

Congrats!

I think I've only taken a couple of months off VJ at a time. Once while waiting for our K-1 221g (for more evidence/paperwork) and then when my husband first got here. I'll probably take a break again sometime soon, but I enjoy the community, so I'm always around.

Yikes!

MY lawyer said the NYC office is taking about 8 months from biometric to interview day. So you are better off to apply AP now.

Apr 20, 2021:  Card mailed! "On April 20, 2021, we mailed your new card for your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE"

5/25/2016 Walk in for a "junior" Biometrics for an 11 year old (supposedly not required). Oops wrote down the wrong day, appointment was for 5/23/2016. USCIS office was nice and accepted us 2 days late.

7/13/2016 Finally the Check Status Website worked. Approved EAD and AP. Website still not working on AOS Green Card Application. No email notification at all....

7/15/2016 Card for EAD mailed. Card is for both EAD and AP. Received 7/19/2016. Waiting now for AOS Interview or Green Card Approval

7/19/2016 The USCIS.GOV is now working for our AOS application. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Seems others have access to USCIS.GOV Check Case now. Glitch fixed?

8/15/2016 I-485 Approved. Status now Card/Document Production

8/20/2016 GREEN CARD DELIVERED -118 Days K-2 Process complete, see y'all on Lifting Conditions board in a year or so

I wanted to make the online request, because my case has passed 4 months and that's what is the normal processing time at my office.

I even called like a month ago and they told me I can make a request at the beginning of August.

Well, I tried, but it says my case is still within normal processing time.

How do you make an online request and what does that do?

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

Go to "Case outside of normal processing time" and then you'll type in the info. Eventually it'll get to a person who will try to find out if either your case is still within processing time or if there's a reason for the hold up. They'll then let you know what they find out by sending out a letter.
