Hi,

Need some advice from this group.

We are apply for AOS this week and will include the application for AP and EAD. AP and EAD seems to have their own application fees. If you apply for all three at the same time, what would be the application fee we have to submit?

I woke up to 6 emails from USCIS today saying that my EAD/AP card had been delivered. I received the card last Wednesday and got the texts then... I really do appreciate the emails, but 6?! I actually got excited when I first saw the emails but I thought it was for the green card.

lol gotta love USCIS.

Received EAD/AP on Friday! Just contacted my congressman about the stupid medical RFE for the green card today. I just really don't want to redo the medicals, and now that he's got EAD and AP, I feel like we can afford to waste a little bit of time at least just asking to clear up a potential confusion (I really think it's a matter of whoever got our case didn't notice the DS-3205? Or maybe it was filled out incorrectly? We'll see). Because we're going on vacation in a week and a half and he's got a job lined up for when we get back, I sort of feel like the couple of weeks it'll take to ask and answer this "erm, didn't we already give that to you" question is fine. I hope. Part of me is still worried that they'd deny it but, if that happens, we have our congressman at our back.... right?

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Also in Seattle here and got the status update to interview scheduled on September 13th early yesterday AM. I see we have the same case receipt date of March 29th at USCIS. Best of luck on the interview! I have heard from others that they are straight forward and that we should get told of a decision at the interview. Hope that is the case for us as well!

We have only been married since March so yea, less than 2 years lol. I will have to call the USCIS, I don't want to get in trouble if they're expecting me to lift the conditions in 2 years and I don't.

Just happy I'm through the process now though :)

It's better to point out their mistake as soon as possible. Do a search around vj, I can't remember when but that was a case like this a few months back.

Congrats!!! So jealous not to be called for interview.

I am glad you got the EAD/AP, it definitely takes off the pressure on things. I never heard of anyone contacting the congressman for a RFE about a medical. Usually I hear it when there's abnormal delays or really serious weird stuff. Keep us posted to know if it does something!. If not, don't feel discouraged. I've seen people getting asked hundreds of times for things they already sent. I got RFE for both my I-129f and then for my AOS, both for things I had already sent. I ranted and fought it but ended up giving in because as usual with USCIS, it seems like it's the easiest way. I've tried to file complaints and they just tell me there's nobody and nowhere to do that, so it seems like fighting this RFEs is just like swimming against the current. So don't worry about it being weird or unfair, it sucks, but at least you are not alone suffering for the unfair treatment we get ;) and you know that it has a solution, annoying or not.

Like you said though, you have the time to afford trying an alternative with the congressman, so I wish you luck and maybe if any of us gets that same RFE we'll know what to do! :)
