Hello, Quick question please needed!!! I just got hired on a job and now the paper works begin I have my EAD but I didnt have ssn yet rather I did not apply yet. I will go on Monday to apply for SSN. IS there a way where I can get a SSNumber even without the card. I read somewhere that you can print the SSN number?? If anyone knows about this please tell me how. I really need t get this ASAP. Thank you for all the help once again group

You won't be able to get a number right on the spot. You should go to the ss office, apply for your ssn and ask there if there's any way you could get the number before the actual card or if there's something else to do to expedite it because you have the job offer.

I got my SSN way before EAD. You could've applied sooner. I takes around a week to get your card. Not sure if you can get the number, you'll have to ask in the office.

When I went to the SSA to get my SS card, I asked them if there was any way that I could get the number before the actual card (I needed to open a bank account and BofA wouldn't take me without a SSN) They gave me their phone number and asked me to call the day after to see if a number was assigned to me, they told me, though, that they were not going to be able to give me my number over the phone so if I wanted it I had to go to the SSA again.

The next day I called and they had my number on record. I went to the office and they gave it to me. The card arrived 5 days later by mail.

Just ask I wasn't asked any questions on why I needed my number before the card.

Finally good news! Saturday 7/23 my status changed to New card is being produced!! Hope they will send it soon...

Hey guys, I just received the EAD card yesterday (Saturday 23rd) morning. It marks 93 days since they received the application. I'm a late April filer, so I hope almost everyone gets their card before the end of this month. If you applied for AP as well, it will be stated on the EAD card.

I just want to share a tip that worked for me. I read it somewhere in the forum, but I don't remember who posted it. When the online status changed to "Mailed", there was no tracking number provided. Someone suggested to create an account at the USPS website and use the My USPS feature. After you provide your address and everything, it will list and even notify you for any packages that are being mailed to you.

I actually did this, and it did not work. It said no packages are being mailed to me :/

Yes!!! I agree with you on that one. I'm still waiting on an EAD. ? Sometimes I wonder if the home country has anything to do with the speed of getting it.

Not really. When I phoned on the next day he suggested me to take one number just to make sure I was going to be called, but he basically told me to go over and look for him. When he saw me he asked me to go over his window.

I went to SSA and applied for my SSN on Wednesday... I got it in the mail this morning so it took less than a week to get it in the mail

My husband talked to a tier 2 officer today concerning his EAD and was told his 90 days starts from the day his biometrics was done. He is at day 91 already and was told to call back around end of August and for GC he should call back in four months. This is so sad....

Also, I'm in the same boat as you Moslund...i485 still on fingerprint fee received...hoping for no interview!
