Hello Fellow Visajourney members,

Today we decided to call the USCIS customer service to get the status update on or cases. Since we have never been able to access our receipt numbers, the Tier 1 agent was also not able to verify / check the case status and we were transferred to Tier 2. The Tier 2 agents were busy so we were given the option to arrange a call back by the automated system and performed the various steps as instructed to schedule a call back on our direct number.

We were informed about the expected wait time of 63 minutes but it usually runs longer than whats specified, so we haven't received the call back as yet.

I am not sure if the Tier 2 agents call after 6pm, so i am hoping to get some insight on that from our fellow visa journey members.

Will keep you guys updated with the progress.

Kind regards,

ConiMoni

we called today as well around 415PM, were told we would get a call back 67 min later but no call. And I have the same question as you about if they wrap up the day's work and get to all the calls or if they clock out at 6PM and our calls sit in purgatory waiting to be answered.....tomorrow is another day...le sigh

Hello people!

I think it is crazy how some have gotten their GCs without even an interview and the rest of us are stuck with no news of anything, weird RFIE, etc. It seems from what I read that there's no middle ground with us april filers. I just can't wait for all of us to be moving forward with the process.

I had gotten a RFIE that was pretty hard to reply to. They needed me to get extra papers from my joint sponsor (father in law) and then I got wrapped up in a mess of information with USCIS. I was transfered several times to a tier 2 and was told information that I knew for a fact wasn't true. At my first infopass I had been told that my joint sponsor's benefits were ok to count as income (since they aren't means-tested) and then was told by tier 2 officers that they didn't count. I argued with them, read them the memos from the USCIS website, the RFIE letter and told them that I knew people who had used them as income successfully and the last tier 2 officer ended up telling me that he was confused so that maybe I was right. That's it. An immigration officer, who is supposed to know this stuff (or at least read the agency memo about it) was confused. These are the people who have the power to reject your application based on their own ignorance.

Anyway, my husband's mom died last week and so my RFIE took a backseat. We have been shaken by this and we are all trying now to do our best to move on and support each other.

Now, out of the nowhere, a new joint sponsor appeared as an option so we sent his paperwork yesterday. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get his papers, compared to our former joint sponsor, which meant an inch and a half of documents. It was a nice surprise and I am relieved that I won't have to bother my father in law for extra paperwork in this time of grieving.

I have a job interview on Thursday and it sounds like the perfect fit for me. I still haven't gotten my work permit, but the second infopass lady told me that it shouldn't be delayed by the RFIE on my AOS (as if I could now believe what they tell me), so I'm hoping that they'll be wiling to wait for me a little longer.

I'm sorry for the venting/long post, but this past week has been a terrible rollercoaster and I guess I needed some out.

There is no need to apologize and one can only imagine the emotional strain a loss of a family member can do.

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the peace that you seek.

Wish you all the best in your AOS journey. God bless!

They did call back and we asked about the fact that our numbers are not found in the online case status. we were told that they were updating to a new system in July and that is why our cases were not in the "old" system. she basically told us to keep trying until it actually worked. Our I130 application is apparently in limbo, doesn't say anything about being ready to schedule for interview despite what we were told on a previous call. She asked if we wanted to put in an expedite request for the EAD to which we responded with an emphatic YES. told us to expect a response after July 4th holiday. we will see where things go from here. such a frustrating process.

Hi All,

We also received the call back. Both the Tier 1 officer from the first call and the Tier 2 officer now were very kind and supportive.

She mentioned that on all of our cases, she does not see any update after the biometrics. So we humbly asked if we can place a service request for the case approaching regulatory time frame. She did put in a service request and share the reference number in the following format: WKD##########MSC. Furthermore we have been advised to wait till July 14th, 2016.

I hope things improve from here on out.

Good luck to all.

Kind regards,

ConiMoni

Hi Yimodu,

I did a service request online based on the timeline being past 75 days, but so far nothing.

Wouldn't the request for expedition based on personal financial loss be bad for my GC process? meaning, if my husband filled the 864 as my sponsor and proved that he had all the funds to support me while I waited for my GC, how can I base my request on financial loss? I just don't want to harm my case in anyway, but it sucks to wait all this time and no answer. I initially told my boss that my EAD would for sure arrive before July 4th (90 deadline), but I am not concern it won't. Not sure how long more they will wait for it, such a frustrating moment. 85 days and nothing

Sorry for your loss. Pls do hang in here, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel pretty soon.
