Thanks for sharing. We don't have any plans to move now, but I'm trying to think ahead.

My advice would be to have atleast 20 days before you move to a new place, My lease got over between receiving an RFE and 75 days after submission. I just wanted to make sure that nothing gets sent to the old address so I forwarded all my mails from USPS to a friends address, had my change of address done to the same and even starting tracking my incoming packages via USPS. Just to be on safer side. I have had bad experiences with USCIS as a student hence just devised a full proof plan to make sure it doesnt get lost.

Smart! I hope things move quickly for you!!

It takes 2 weeks technically to hear from them for address change, however I got a reply within 6-10 days. Just for your reference hope this helps.

25th March'2016- Sent out the application via UPS to Chicago.

29th March'2016- Package received. (day1)

4th April'2016- Received 4 Text SMSs and 4 E-mails from the USCIS notifying my case has been received and routed to National Benefits Center for Processing. (day 6)

5th April'2016- Checks have been cashed. (day 7)

7th April'2016- NOA received in mail . (day 9)

2nd May'2016- Received Biometric Appointment Letter(day 33)

5th May'2016- Walked In 8;30am for early Biometric Appointment( In and out in 12 minutes)(day 36)

12th May'2016- Biometric Appointment Schedule

24th May'2016- Received RFE for Form I864( Tax Returns, Pay Stubs)(day 55)

26th May'2016- Sent out the evidence for RFE (day 57)

1st June'2016- Received notification that the RFE package was received. Case status website updated (day 56)

2nd June'2016- Put in a request for Change in Address for all the 4 applications. Received Confirmation mail the same day(day 57)

6th June'2016- Address change request was completed.(day 61)

11th June'2016- Letter of Address change confirmation was received. (day 66)

23rd June'2016- Called USCIS asked to spoke a Tier 2 officer was called back on the third attempt after 8 hours and spoke about confirmation of address change. (day 78)

24th June'2016- Status change for EAD only "New Card is being produced" (day 79)

29th June'2016- Card was mailed to me at the mentioned date(day 84)

2nd July'2016- Card received in mail (day 87)

9th August'2016- Interview scheduled for September 13th(day 125)

16th August'2016- Interview cancelled.(day 132)

13th September'2016- Attended the interview and was told my file wasn't available at the local office. (Day 163 )

29th October'2016- Rescheduled the interview for December 1st. (Day 209)

1st December'2016- Judgement Day RELOADED!(Day241)

2nd December'2016- New card is being produced!(Day 242)

6th December'2016- STATUS CHANGED TO NEW CARD HAS BEEN MAILED. (Day 246)

8th December'2016- Received USPS tracking code to track my GC. Scheduled for delivery on 14th December'16.

What's there to lose patience for if you already have your EAD/AP?

Just received my Green Card today We didn't get called into an interview! My card is valid for 10 year though.... That has to be a mistake, right?

I saw most people trying to put in service request for their EAD and got told to call after 90 days. Earlier this month we had changed our address and had put in request for all 4 forms, however they reflected on only 2 of em. So i decided to call and like everyone else tried to get hold of tier 2 officer. The customer service lady transferred me to the tier 2 and I got called after 8 hours, for some reason the call didnt go through the first 2 times and they had to call me again(3 attempts to get hold of you).

The officer was polite, instead of asking her about the status of my EAD card, I asked her why my address change was reflecting on my EAD and AP receipts. She confirmed that the address change had happened on all 4 and that the documents are taking normal time for processing 90-100 days.

Next day status of the EAD card changes to "CARD is Being Produced" :)

Wont complain, but I think they are slacking so much that your file comes on top only when you call them.After day 75, call them-> talk to tier 2 ask him/her to atleast check your receipt number-> and it just moves I think somehow just moves-> you dont call them they assume you don't need it badly enough I guess.

So at around 06:30 AM this morning I got a text from a number I believe is USCIS (+1 540 657-3128) saying that my case was updated.

It also mentioned to check 'My Case Status' at www.uscis.gov

Praying that my EAD/AP application was approved, I checked the USCIS portal online and was surprised to see the 'I-485' application status as 'New Card being produced'

I have attached a screen-shot of it - My question is, am I getting my GC straight-away?

Cause it sure seems to point towards that direction. I would appreciate any insight on this.

Okay so ours did the same thing.

Our EAD and AP didn't change though, but our I-485 changed to New Card being created.


So yeah unless there are some major messups, does this mean our GC is on the way?

Yes! Since both of you already had an interview, you will get your gc without another one! Most of the k1-filers wont have to go to an interview! Congrats!

april 1st: sent i-485 to chicago lockbox

april 4th: i-485 delivered to chicago lockbox

april 7th: "biometrics fee received and accepted"

april 10th: email notification of acceptance and routing to NBC for processing

april 11th: hardcopy i-797C in mail (notice date april 8th)

april 30th: received biometrics letter for: may 11th @ 9am

june 2nd: received interview letter for: july 6th @ 11.10am

july 6th: Interview day---no decision was made

july 13th: sent e-mail to congressman, asking for an inquiry on my case.

I just think it's crazy because usually you get a no interview notice, and traditionally that seems to actually make people have longer GC waits. The last thing we did with this was biometrics LOL. Heard nothing since then.

Don't get me wrong, super happy but skeptical.

Wow! I cannot believe that the case by-passed the EAD/AP & Interview stages and went straight for the GC being issued.

I did have my interview during the K-1 visa process, but after that I have had none.

I did however expect an 'interview-waiver' notification - hence I can understand the skepticism of Ash.1101, but nevertheless I am glad to see the notification.

The I-485 status went from 'Fingerprint Fee was Received' to 'New Card Is Being Produced'

While the rest of the cases' status (including EAD) still shows 'Case Was Received'

Oh, that's good. Congrats to both of you, Ash and CoolStrawberryPie.

I'm approaching my 75th day for my EAD and AP and I'm planning to lodge a service request. Do I just do it online or do I need to call USCIS to do it? I don't wanna call them anymore because the last experience that I had with their representative was terrible. He was very rude and just hang up on me.

April 13, 2016 – AOS, EAD & AP sent (Day 1)

April 15, 2016 – Received date on the NOA1 (Day 2)

April 22, 2016 – Received SMS & E-mail Notification (Day 9)

April 25, 2016 – Received Hard Copy of NOA1 (Day 12)

May 2, 2016 – Received Biometric Appointment (Day 19)

May 13, 2016 – Biometric Schedule (Day 30)

May 30, 2016 – Updated I-485 to “Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for Interview” (Day 47)

June 29, 2016 - Submitted Service Request (Day 76)

July 13, 2016 - EAD & AP approved (Day 89)
