Hi everybody, I'm in USA with CR1 in process of removing condition on green card,i'm waiting like everybody for approval or interview or something, i just found job recently, i started training with them for days, somebody from HR wanted to talk to me in my training , she was nice lady she said they couldn't verify my identity/information and they received a letter from homeland security or something like this, she said this can happens i showed her the ID and SSN i had with me that day, then she said just call homeland department and they are going to update their system , she know my first green card is expired, Is this normal ? is this happened to somebody before? what time should i give homeland security a call, i live in south California?

Thanks

It seems to happen more often than not. There are numerous stories on the ROC forum about employment authorization issues revolving about expired conditional GCs. Have you provided the HR folks with a copy of your Form I-797 ROC petition receipt/GC extension letter (NOA1)? Sometimes that helps in this these types of situations.

Here is an older example of that form. YMMV. http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=374&pid=4281#top_display_media

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thank you for your answer ,

In my Orientation day i provided them with 1 or 2 proofs that you can show if you want in the list , so i gave them my ID and SS card all are original, few days during my training when the HR responsible she came to talk to me i showed her the same docs + my expired green card and the extension letter she didn't makes any copies for the green card or the extension letter she just verified the alien registration number that i entered while i filled I9 form, do you know the working times for homeland security because i must gave them a call like she said?

thank you again for the link

Sure, they seem to work from slow to glacial, depending on the season.

Seriously, I am not sure of any working times or order for DHS. Give them a call, daily, every other day, twice a week, once a week....whatever it takes for them to get off of their duffs and take care of business. The activity has likely been out-sourced to some slovenly government contractor that takes their sweet time inputting the data.

Go get 'em !!!
