There is only ONE original marriage certificate. I am not giving that to anyone. However, I got certified copies from the county clerk (with the raised stamps) and that's what I gave them at the interview.

I think your list of documents is good and complete! At least you have your tax docs for 2015 ? My husband still had to do his!

Are certified copies just regular copies or did you order new documents? I'm always confused with the term certified. For our AOS package, we just sent copies and it was fine but yesterday I heard that a certified copy is basically a new original document that you order to the court (if marriage certificate).

Hi!

When we went to the county to register our marriage, they signed the original copy, but we were given the option to purchase certified copies. These are certified by the government and can count as secondary originals. Hope this helps?

You might want to add the SSN card to the list.I was asked for it at the interview and thankfully we had it on hand. At the end, the IO made copies of DLs, Passports and SSNs (of both of us).

Hey

I have one last question for the interview documents.

We submitted the affidavit of support with all docs in 2015. We will bring the tax return for 2015, letter from employer and pay stubs to the interview.

But do we also need to file a new affidavit of support and bring it to the interview?

Update : we had our interview this morning and we got an update on the uscis website saying: new card is beeing produced. On April 20,2016 we ordered your new card.....

The officer didn't say anything at the end of the interview so is this message saying we have been approved for the green card????

We had our interview today and our IO told us we were approved! However, we don't see any updates on the USCIS website yet. Sounds like we're the exact opposite LOL.

He did mention to my husband that it would take 7 - 10 business days to process and then we'd receive the green card in the mail in the weeks following that. We had such an excellent experience in Boston today. I plan on writing a full review later on.

Congrats!

Yesterday evening they changed the status for I-485 again. It went from "new card is beeing produced" to "case approved". The I-130 also says "case approved" now. So I'm still not 100% sure of what is going on. Anyone else experienced these status changes and do you know what do they mean?

I wish we had an excellent experience as well - we got separated for the interview from the beginning and that was kind of unexcpected! Apparently they separeted a lot of couples yesterday.
