I have visited my husband up to 9 times in one year. Public holidays that fall on a Friday or Monday are excellent for that. I also work every weekend to gain extra time back - today is Easter Sunday here and I've just finished work. And I worked yesterday. Next week I'm visiting my husband and taking back the days I worked this weekend. It depends how badly you want it. I left a regular 9-5 job to get a flexible working hours job specifically to be able to see my husband more often. Love is more important to me than career progression.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Exactly JFH. I purposely work a job that allows me to take time off when I want it. Sometimes it even annoys my husband because I'm not progressing in my job and I don't make more money because of that. So more bills fall on him. But for me, having flexibility for time off, is WAY more important than becoming a manager and up. In reality, when he thinks about it, he wouldn't have it any other way either. He gets annoyed when they do change my hours and we see each other less! /sigh Flexibility also that important that I don't waste my time applying for a bunch of better jobs knowing they likely will be more stringent about hours.

OP, listen to the advice here. They're not going to grant you a tourist visa. Save the money for when you may need it vs wasting it. Yes, being apart sucks, but either your wife visits you, or you don't visit at all until AP is through.

i intend to go back to Jordan when you are needed at the embassy when ap is finished, or the visiting visa expires... which is Not fraud because I intend to go back to Jordan to finish the immigration visa properly... not stay in the US just because I got in. I'm not stupid, I would not waste my chance to be with my wife forever by committing fraud

Let's be clear.

You just stated that you were planning on visiting her UNTIL the AP is done.

So your intention is NOT to visit and go back to Jordan, but to stay until you don't have to leave.

THAT is visa fraud.

I intend to go back to Jordan when I am needed at the embassy when ap is finished, or the visiting visa expires... which is Not fraud because I intend to go back to Jordan... to finish the immigration visa properly... not stay in the US just because I got in.

I'm not stupid, I would not waste my chance to be with my wife forever by committing fraud.

Begs the question what job you have that allows so much time off?

My wife works in a place that's open 24 hours... she has been flexible in her scheduling, picking up shifts and working doubles... in return, her boss works with her on time off requests...although they remind her they are being flexible with her, because she is flexible the last three times she visited. It also helps she is one of the top performing employees...

What do you do that allows you so much time off?

OP, we all understand how excruciatingly lonely that empty pillow is but we've all been there. You asked and you were given good advice. Hang in there. AP will be over in time.

She works at a state work release facility.

Nobody is asking what she does. What do YOU do?

you are currently ineligible to get a US visa until the AP is over....period.....by law, a CO cannot give you a visa until you are cleared via the AP.....without exception. Tears won't change our laws.

That says it all

I read that wrong... I drive a bus for a school.

...and the last guy doesn't have to be rude by saying tears won't change our laws, or insinuating that I'm trying to commit fraud because I wanted to see if there was a way to visit my wife on a visitor visa...but finish the process legally and properly when ap is over. I can accept the advice... no problem.. people don't have to be rude about it.

Understand that this is a poster who has worked as a consular officer and has seen it all. The posters delivery lacks compassion but is to be seen as an honest, no nonsense advisory.

from your postings, you somehow believe that you are entitled to a tourist visa during AP, and in spite of being told numerous times that it won't be given to you, you kept trying to elicit sympathy from people who are not even empowered to give you a visa (including me)....I told you, straight, that no matter how much you keep trying to generate sympathy from others, nothing will change....AP = AP....your case is already flagged in the DoS's computer system; the moment you (might) step up to the interviewing window, seeking a B2 visa, the CO will already know that your IV case has been set aside pending a favorable decision on your background....so, no matter what you might say to said CO, no matter how you might beg and plead for a B2 visa, and even if you decide to squeeze an onion near your eyes, tears won't magically produce a tourist visa....because, by law, the CO cannot give you one....no matter what sad story you tell.

I've dealt with this situation countless times, including having the American spouse try to convince me otherwise, and I gave out zero B2 visas....especially when a case was already in AP....because a CO would be violating US law if he or she foolishly gave you a B2 visa....do you really think that a CO would do such a thing? Do you honestly believe that you could create enough sympathy for a CO to ignore the oath he or she took, to uphold the laws of the United States of America, just to hand you a B2 visa? Are your powers of persuasion greater than an American citizen's (foreign service officer's) desire to live up to the oath they took when they joined the FS? Impossible.

What I have told you is blunt, to be sure, but the first three or four messages apparently didn't take.

No matter how badly you would prefer to spend time with your spouse during the AP process, it will not happen.....by law. Sympathy does not override our laws.

OP, in simple terms you cannot get a B2. You are in AP for a reason. They are not ready to let you into the country yet. That's why you can't get a B2 visa. You are not eligible.

That's life. There would be no point in AP if you were free to come and go into the country.
