Why is it possible to send an unkind personal message to someone & immediately block them so they can't answer?

This happened to me yesterday. The message's sender said they did not want to clutter the thread that prompted them to write me.

We need to be able to see the message, to levy appropriate action (such as a suspension, or MID- Mutual Ignore Directive). We cannot just take a member's word that another member said something against the TOS.

I already deleted the message. Any way to bring it back so I can report it?

What irks me is not necessarily the message itself, there is no profanity or name calling, although I did not like it. What irks me is that they automatically blocked me so that I could not answer it.

Blocking someone is allowed- and in fact, sometimes encouraged by moderation if two members continually bicker or attack eachother. If the PM you got is not against the TOS itself, I agree it is better to let it go, before you and the other person start PMing eachother in an increasingly aggressive way and you may both fall foul of the TOS.

I found it & reported it, but then went back to re-read the message, and realized I misread the one word that kinda annoyed me, so if you do see my report, Penguin_ie, please disregard it.

I realize that you guys are right and letting go is what I am going to do now.
