H1B (3 year) Visa Interview Location - Possible to Modify?

Hello, posting for a friend of mine:

Has anyone applying for an H1B visa successfully scheduled an appointment for a US visa interview in a country other than the one to which their ustraveldocs.com profile goes to by default because of a previous application? Put differently, if your ustraveldocs profile was first made for an interview in one country, were you able to change it to a different country when applying for a new visa while on the same passport?

I'm trying to make an appointment in Berlin (and spend 4-5 days eating currywurst!) but the appointment system has me pegged to the Amman consulate. I called the NIV helpline, who said they heard of this before but have no clue, and emailed the ustraveldocs help desk, but no response yet.

All help appreciated!

To clarify, I've searched VJ forums for more general interview location change options, but didn't readily see one involving a work visa interview. Just wondering if there are procedural differences to consider between family visas and work visas. It does sound like it's not worth the hassle/uncertainty/delays involved in trying to change interview locations, though.

I'd think that it would be at the Berlin embassy's discretion as you are not a German resident.

Just FYI for those with future questions about this topic, and update from my friend:

Many thanks to everyone who responded above! The solution, in case anyone is in a similar situation, is to call the ustraveldocs help desk. To get a human on the line, press 2 (English), 4 (non-immigrant visas), 1 (schedule an appointment), 1 (already applied) and ask them to move your profile to a different country. Have your passport #, name, and email address/profile ID number ready. The lovely person on the other line will change the profile country with a couple of clicks. Of course the consulate itself may or may not issue the visa depending on the interview, but that's apparently the easiest way to move a ustraveldocs applicant profile to a different country.
