No, it's hatred for Muslims. Not grade school logic.

We get it. Really. You hate them. No need to rehash this every day like you're actually proving a point.

And...no need to bring it up all the darn tume either, is it.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

The article he posted clearly points out Muslims are being killed by radical extremist just like other people are being killed by these extremist.

And that's what many Muslims here are trying to do. The 1.6 million here are not part of the problem.

I think any place that has religion as a ruling class without the separation of Church and State will yield the same results. Look at places in Africa where Christianity are the majority and they still do genital mutilation, gays are killed without question, and genocide is carried out like ordering a pizza. Also places like Russia where being gay gets you labeled as a pedophile by their president, and they can disappear you if you're not careful. Look at Japan, China, Korea. None of these places are Islam ruled, but have some pretty draconian rules to live by.

The Muslims here just want to live life just like you do. I've spent time with them when I was practicing. No blowing up things or shooting people. But it's a burden when you have to carry your crazy around with you just because you read the Quran.

I am actually on both sides of this one believe it or not. I have some friends of mine and people I have met while living in the Middle East who are great people and are Muslim. But I have also had the unfortunate pleasure of sending some very bad ones to hell while serving in Iraq. So I can see the two different sides here.

The one big thing that most people don't understand is that out of the whole Muslim population a average of 20% is radicalized and follow Salafism. The rest by and large do not follow that teaching at all. So yes they are a minority as a whole but that are a very vocal and violent minority that intimidates the rest of the religion into compliance through bombings, rapes, and beheadings. They also believe that the various forms of Shia Islam are infidels and need to be killed. The issue is very complex in it's simplest form thus most Americans do not comprehend it and just decide it's easier to label the entire Muslim population as terrorists.

Sorry I would write more now but I am taking my kids to a movie, so I will write more when I get back.

Thank you for your service.

Your second paragraph pretty much sums it up. Most people don't want to take the time and see that not all Muslims follow that destructive pathway. Like I said when I was practicing it, I never had an issue, but people used to ask me constantly about every time something happened overseas that dealt with Muslims. Even being in Malaysia and Indonesia, I didn't feel any type of threat to my safety. I know it gets bloody, but I know it's not all of them, but the ones you're talking about.

You were Army I'm going to assume? 6 years Army, 15 years Navy here.

There's no need to belittle Americans and basically call them stupid and ignorant just without saying it. For the most part what you wrote is very similar to what I said. But let me ask you, what percentage of Americans do you think actually believe that all Muslims are terrorists? I betcha that number doesn't even reach 5%. But it's easier to just label the entire American population as ignorants.

http://www.brookings.edu/blogs/markaz/posts/2015/12/09-what-americans-think-of-muslims-and-islam-telhami

My recent poll indicates nearly identical views of Islam in 2015 as in the optimistic days of 2011, with 61 percent of Americans also expressing unfavorable views.

And he didn't belittle Americans. He said most people don't comprehend the complexities about the fighting between the different factions. Something that must be true since I've never seen you or anyone else here who talks about Muslims day in and out bring it up.

And what he said is NOTHING like what you said. Your comment was:

That is the most ridiculous load of bull that I have ever read. Now, I already know you're going to ask me to explain that, so I'm already going to tell you I don't owe you an explanation. It would simply be a waste of time.

It's strange, you flat out said you refused to talk about it because freedom of speech. And yet, here you are again trying to argue a point you didn't even want to talk about in the first place because it was a waste of time for you. Talk about not saying it. It appears that you only want to speak if it's to talk about Muslims in a non positive way.

Not having favorable views of something or someone is a far, far, far....far, far....far far(get it yet) cry from labeling them all as terrorists. DUH. 5th grade logic.

I am not trying to belittle anyone at all, I am just calling the facts as I see them. I believe there are a very small amount of American Citizens that believe that all Muslims are terrorists. I just think that the issue is too complex for people that are not regularly watching and reading the news to know about what is truly going on around the world.

I learned something new today, I didn't know you were Muslim. Yeah I lived in the Middle East for a number of years (Qatar, UAE, Afghanistan) and have visited the rest of the ME as a US Marine. I have lived around and knew some very good Muslims who hated how what they considered "Bad Muslims" perverted there religion. My wife is from the Southern part of the Philippines where a large amount of the Philippine Muslims live. She never had any problems with them at all and I haven't either.

20% isn't more than 80% but I'll let the genius explain it to me:

My perception is that good muslims are for the most part a "silent majority". However, there is no doubt that a larger percentage of the muslim population either engages or believes in acts of terrorism, than the percentage in other religions. That is not prejudice it is simply statistical facts. And the concern is that this percentage only grows, instead of becoming smaller.

Yes of course there are some Americans that don't know what truly is going on. Just like there are Europeans or Asians that don't know what's going on with certain issues that concern them. Ignorance is everywhere and for the most part I am definitely NOT in the camp that believes Americans in general are more ignorant than other nations.

Do you even understand English?

Here is your explanation and then I am done wasting my time on you cause it's a lost cause anyway;

20% radicalized in one religion? Show me any other religion where that happens? How is what he said any different from what I said? Let me break this down for you into real itty bitty pieces so you can very easily understand:

We both said the peaceful muslims are a silent majority.

We both said there is an alarming percentage(20% to me is very alarming) of muslims who are radicalized.

We both said we have known many good muslims.

Comprende?

Jesus Christ.
