Hello everyone, I'm Egyptian applied for K1 visa last year and got approved, left Egypt last April and got married in last July, for family emergency I had to leave the United States last December and go back to Egypt and didn't apply for the AOS, I have been in Egypt for 3 month now, and for some complicated reasons my wife doesn't want to go through CR1 visa, I don't even know what does she wants anymore.

My question is :

If I want to go through divorce from Egypt what should I do and where should I go, it seems like the only thing to do! Can anyone help me with some answers?

Why can you not divorce in Egypt?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Some states allow for annulment - reverse marriage as if it never happened. Don't know where you married or your x's opinions but this could also be an avenue.

The marriage was in California! And she doesn't seem like to know what she wants!

OP, maybe you should be trying to find out what she wants not how to get a divorce?

I'm sending her messages & emails everyday no response from her! Also as I mentioned, she said she doesn't want to go through another process(CR1) and I think it's the only way for us to be together!. I don't want a divorce I love her..

You can easily divorce from Egypt. Simply go to the Ministry, fill out the paperwork, pay the cost, and you're done. Then, send a copy of the divorce papers to her in the U.S. Simples.

Thank you.. But what ministry should I go to?

Ministry of Justice, at the Foreign Marriage Office. You'll file In Absentia and, if I remember correctly, it costs less than 50 LE. After the customary waiting period, you can pick up your Final Divorce papers. As I said, mail a copy to your wife. You should also send a certified copy to the Embassy in Cairo (be sure to include any appropriate identification numbers).
