well i didn't count how we will marry here in the us in the courthouse, then in california for the big wedding, then in morocco for a moroccan wedding... all within the next year. (hopefully)

but i would also do it for our 20th or 25th anniversary. sooooo romantic

yes, and possibly next time we are up in canada so we can have a show for our friends and family up there.

The only ones from his family that were able to attend were his parents. We've talked about a reaffirmation ceremony when we're able to go home again, for the reasons stated above. Of course, depending on the time of year it is will determine what I wear. ;)

Renewing our vows this August for our 1 year anniversry so all our friends and family can be there. It was to expensive for everyone to fly to JA for our wedding. This time it is real cheap IPOD music, good food and reception/saying of the vows at the farm.

Met Jan 1998, vows on 2006, Jay Jay born 2008, baby 2 - 2011

We did.

First we had the civil wedding (magistrate). About 5 months after that we had the church ceremony with our family and friends and we found out that it was called Renewal of Vows. We enjoyed that so much that we won't be adverse to having it again ... maybe every five years? (ok, maybe after 25 years would be more reasonable).

I have not seen my husband since our honey moon, probably won't see him until he gets visa and will go "pick him up" :) and bring him here

I am planing a renewal ceremony, so that this time after we say our vows we never, ever are apart again from that day on.

Call me weird, but I feel like a was robbed of that post wedding closeness...

Anyway, I am planning a small ceremony in the botanical gardens here in Dallas. I will splurge on the photographer but that's about it. Shopping for a cute dress and a replica of my original bouquet, and that's it. No crazy costs like the wedding :)

It's our fifth wedding anniversary this year and I want to renew our vows so that we can be married by our own pastor in our own church, with our own friends and family there... we were married in a chapel but we only had three people with us and we didn't have a dress or rings or any of the conventional wedding trappings. The other option for us would be to do it in August next year, on the tenth anniversary of when he proposed - thanks to immigration we had to wait four whole years before we were actually married!

Karen - Melbourne, Australia/John - Florida, USA

- Proposal (20 August 2000) to marriage (19 December 2004) - 4 years, 3 months, 25 days (1,578 days)

STAGE 1 - Applying for K1 (15 September 2003) to K1 Approval (13 July 2004) - 9 months, 29 days (303 days)

STAGE 2A - Arriving in US (4 Nov 2004) to AOS Application (16 April 2005) - 5 months, 13 days (164 days)

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

STAGE 4 - CITIZENSHIP (filing under 5-year rule - residency start date on green card Jan 11th, 2006)

*N400 filed December 15, 2011

*Interview March 12, 2012

*Oath Ceremony March 23, 2012.

ALL DONE!!!!!!!!

Yes for the 10th anniversary because we were not able to have any wedding ceremony or reception for various reasons.

I wanna wear a wedding gown someday.

I voted "maybe" because who knows what'll happen.

We got married in the U.S. so I think it'd be great to have a party in Brazil in the future. I voted 6-10 years because I hope to be living in Brazil at that time and with planning it'll take time...

Yes. I would like to get married in the church at some point since we only got married legally. Maybe in the future when we are living in Argentina :)

Saludos,

Caro
