IR-5 Case number has expiration?

Hi guys,

I wanna ask if the IR5 case number has expiration? My mom got a case number since October 15, but we have a huge problem in getting her a passport back home. Thank you!

You will have 1-year from the date that you paid for IV fee if your case is currently being processed by NVC.

If you case is still pending at USCIS, you will receive RFE and you will have 90 days to response; otherwise, USCIS will consider your application abandoned.

Thank you. I haven't receive RFE yet or anything so far. But my mother's case isn't in NVC yet I believe. I paid the IV fee and AOS in September I believe.
