Our case was just received at the consulate on 3/22. We are waiting for packet 3; however, I just realized they don't have my fiance's email address in order to send him anything! There was no place for that on any of the K-1 forms I sent in. What should I do? They have my email address but not his.

04/14/16 - Received packet 3 by email

04/15/16 - Medical exam

We can complete the DS160 before receiving packet 3? I'm so confused. That's what people are saying, but I called the embassy in Haiti this morning and she said we had to receive packet 3 first. But she didn't sound very sure of herself.

Hi don't be confused. This is what I did. You can do DS160 without the package. The package is just information about medical examination, and his letter he needs to go get the exam done. Here is an email address you can email the embassy directly and someone will respond to you . papcons@state.gov and subject line k1 package 3.

Include in your body your fiancé PTP number and his name along with his email address and ask them you perfer package 3 by email. It's faster that way. I got mine through email and 2 weeks later he got it in the mail which doesn't matter. Give them about two days and see if you get a response. In the package will be a letter for him to have his medical done by one of the doctors on the list. In the meanwhile, you can start the ds160 and at the end it will be a confirmation page. Print about 3 copies. He will need one in order to go pay for the visa at sogebank which must be paid in Haitian money. Once it's paid, wait one day and it should be in the system and you can go ahead and schedule an interview after you recieve the packet 3. I know some people who schedule interview after the next day of paying the visa to secure a visa date. That's an option too but it put u at risk of trying to retrieve the k1 package in time so he can have his medical done. After that you can start preparing all papers for the interview. You will need to give a copy of the DS 160 to hubby for him to be able to enter the embassy on his interview day along with all the required documents. Once he is approved, you can track his visa on the ceac website. Thanks hope this helps.
