Hi!

My husband is a US citizen and we filed for DCF two days ago. The lady took our paperwork, clarified the forms and made sure everything's a-OK, made the payment, and we're out. I'm a little anxious about the interview, though we dont have my case number yet. We're having a hard time checking how we can prove domicile and/or reestablish here since he left US when he was 17 only for college here in the PH. He really planned to go back to the US after college, but I was pregnant when he graduated April 2015 and we just got married last January 2016, so he waited until we got married so it will be easier for us. Now here's the catch: proof of domicile. He didnt have any bank accoumts, a drivers license, voters registration, bills addressed to the US, since as Ive mentioned, he was underage when he left.

Is it sufficient if we just get a letter of accomodation agreement for the house we're planning to stay at, a copy of two one-way tickets booked to the US, copy of his college transcripts for proof he is sticking to the original plan, copies of our kids' birth certificates showing that his American citizenship is still acknowledged (he's a dual citizen, btw) also email correspondence for possible job opportunities? Im really worried about this part since this is essential for the Affidavit of Support.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Im just so worried about all of this :(

First is the form I-864, Affidavit of Support. Do you plan to use a joint sponsor?

2nd is intent to return to the US.

3rd is proof of domicile.

I believe what you have will be fine for 2 and 3 but concerning the I-864 we need to know if you'll be using a joint sponsor? If you are you should be able to get some help (if needed) from your joint sponsor especially if it's family with # 2 and 3 also.

Be aware this can move very fast! We filed our I-130 Feb 17, 2016 and were approved Feb 26th.

Just finished my wife's interview yesterday March 22nd. Approved..

So from start to end only took us 34 days.

It could have been 24 days if we had understood the process better and had all our docs ready.

As it was we had to wait for docs mailed from the US.

You will need lots of supporting documents, originals and copies.

Good luck

Thanks for your response and congratulations! Yes, we do have a joint sponsor, who is my uncle. He will also provide the letter of accomodation agreement for us. By the way, how long did it take for you to get the paperwork from the US over here? I just requested it yesterday and I'm a little worried that it might take long for the delivery and whatsoever. And is it true that there is a high chance of me being declined for joint sponsors? I'm also a little worried that if I book the one-way plane tickets now, I might get denied. ? hopefully not, though.

We used DHL express and it took 4 days.

Sadly my joint sponsor made a mistake on the 1st one so she had to mail a 2nd one, still both times 4 days.

My wife took lots of papers with her and one of the few they kept was the letter of accommodation, it was from my joint sponsor (my mother) and stated that was my US address and also welcomed my wife. I had read it should be notarized (some have said it didn't need to be) but we played it safe.

As long as your uncle makes enough a joint sponsor is fine.

Mine sent her last 1040 tax return (2014) and her 1099's. They opened the tax return and took 2 pages showing her annual income and that was it.

Personally I would not book any flights yet and many sites warn the same.

Thanks and good luck!

We are in Tagaytay and weekends and holidays our internet barely works. I tried to reply earlier but couldn't get the page to load.. :(
