Let's forget about big breasted women.

I remember reading here on VJ that there was a woman who broke up from her boyfriend because of the differences of their political views.

What if...

You and Janelle are in the situation. Would you rather broke up or trying to compromise the differences?

This question is apply for both of you!

Let's roll, :D !

I posted that article. She broke up with her man because of Trump.

TBH, we don't have that issue since we are both on the same side of the political spectrum. Also, if we have different opinions, we tend to do the research and back up our claims. At first she was going to vote Clinton. So was I, then we did some digging and changed our minds. Sanders is our way to go.

It's not so much about compromise as much as it is about being on the same side for 99 percent of issues we discuss. We've actually gotten into debates where we finish each other sentences and folks have been left in awe by the way we "stack" our answers.

What if..one of you were a Republican or Conservative. Would you choose to be with someone based on the political spectrum or just let it flow and see what happens?

Arnold Schwarzenegger married Maria Shriver though it ended because the infidelity not because of their political spectrums were different.

Well,

I think that being a member of the GOP or being a conservative isn't a deal breaker. What I've said here is the party's ideology isn't the problem. Neither one of us is against a smaller government or fiscal responsibility when it comes to budget. If she was a Conservative and had the same mindset, I wouldn't turn her away.

The two can co-exist as long as you have mutual respect for each other's views. The Trump/boyfriend thread wasn't so much about different political views, but more about her man being a sexist a-hole who saw the warning signs but chose to ignore them. Just like Trump, most people like an a-hole, that is, until it's them on the other end of it.

Political views don't matter to us. How you view human beings and human rights does. The other guy clearly thought very little of women or he would not have made that comment in front of his gf. And it appears the friends and their wives had similar views. The wives were okay with being reduced to an object and this is not ok.

Since my ex and I split, his political views evolved to align roughly with ExPatty's.

Mr U and I agree on most aspects of politics, but we occasionally agree to disagree. He is a recovered Objectivist and believer in Ayn Rand and Austrian Economics, having renounced such folly about 10 years ago. He is still a little to the right of me economically speaking, but we are BANANAS about talking politics to each other. :luv: He's currently obsessed with reading about the Great Recession and likes to hear my viewpoint on it, since I am an escapee from the investment management industry.

I also got to have lunch with him today which never happens on a weekday. Bonus!

Sounds like my ex as well. I remember my in laws would barely tolerate me, but when we got apart, all the little things that they were holding back? Found out real quick. I hope you weren't the reason for that, but then again, most folks that do that have it in them to begin with, my belief.

Janelle and I come from the same kind of background so it's a majority of the time we agree on politics. I didn't know anything about the Eugenics society so she schooled me on that one and other aspects of the way things used to be. I more or less add or take away to the conversation with her so we always end up in the same place. We just recently got my mother to vote for Sanders. She was going to vote for Clinton, but once we jumped on her, she didn't stand a chance

I try to do lunch with her every day if time allows. Isn't it cool!

How cute! Lunch together is awesome! We love to have lunch together out somewhere or meet at home. Quality time together and still having dates are important.

Hmmmmm think deeply, were those political views there and you just didn't know it?
