K1 Visa and Seasonal Work, joint sponsor required?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question based on the income requirement to sponsor the beneficiary. On the websites I've read so far, the petitioner doing seasonal work does not look well for sponsoring the beneficiary. My fiancé (petitioner) has worked at the same location (for the government) for the last 5 years (permanent seasonal), but quit last summer for two months to go to Europe, returned, and obtained the position as a temporary seasonal worker. If he files the last three years of tax returns, he will have well over the requirement to sponsor me on his own, but my question is whether the word "seasonal" will probably stop the consular officer from looking any further when I do my interview. His parents have offered to also be joint sponsors, but I've read that having joint sponsors also does not look good (http://asl-lawfirm.com/blog/2015-update-income-requirements-fiance-visa-marriage-visa-aos-processing/)

Any help would be appreciated,

Thank you!

does he make more than the required to fulfill the requirements for the affidavit of support? If he does, that answers your question, if not you need a joint sponsor

He does make enough to fulfill the requirements for the affidavit of support, yes. In his employment letter which is required for the affidavit of support, when the employer has to state how long he's worked there; however, his boss will have to say since last summer, since he quit. Has anyone been through the interview with a sponsor that has seasonal work, and it been fine?

Hello.

I have the same issue. My fiancé also has a seasonal job in the US government and I´m trying to find out more about how that affects the whole visa process. Did you figure out how to do with the affidavit of support/joint sponsorship? Thank you!

No, not yet. I am hoping his tax returns for the last two years will be enough, along with pay stubs, etc. and only if we need to, I can offer the cosponsorship paperwork, as they may/may not accept it anyways.
