Hi everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone had the experience of USPS losing their green card. My husband had his permanent resident application approved on March 11, 2016, and received his I-797 welcome notice about 5 days later. USPS was supposed to deliver the green card on March 19, 2016 by 2-day Priority mail, but so far, nothing. The tracking says that it is "in transit" but it has been in transit for about 4 days now. I've called various post offices and USPS customer service, but no one knows where the green card is. Mind you, the distribution center that it left on March 18 is only about 10 miles from our home. Right now we opened a claim with USPS to see if they can locate the mail.

Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone had this experience? I know we may have to file the I-90 to get a replacement card, but it would be extremely irritating since the USPS potentially lost our card.

The more irritating aspect will be you having to pay the I-90 filing fee of $450 for a replacement if the existing green card wasn't returned to USCIS as undeliverable.
