This is my first time posting but I have been following this forum religiously. Unfortunately, I discovered this forum after submitting my ROC. I had initially sent a few months of statements and other documents but after realizing it has to be since marriage, I mailed additional documents starting from the marriage date. However I got a rfe saying my bank statements does not show transaction pages n that other documents are insufficient to prove our marriage is real. Most bills were paid from my individual acct. Is it a good idea to add my wife's name to my individual acct n send in response to the referral? USCIS rec'd my application Aug 14 n did biometrics Sept 17. I need some help please

hi

not really, it's proof of bona fide marriage since the GC, so you or your spouse has been a GC holder, the proof of comingling finances has to be of those years

if you send bank statements, the account has to be a joint account and statements from almost 2 years, anything that has both names

do you have a lease in both names? credit cards, bills, health insurance, car insurance, and taxes of course

I have joint lease, health insurance, tax transcripts, 401k beneficiary stmts, health insurance bills for wife, car was co-signed by our sponsor n I cos we didn't have good credit and we can't seem to refinance cos the bank won't approve it. My main concern is the joint bank acct statement not showing payments for bills, groceries n incoming direct deposit.

Adding her to the account after the fact won't help. You say you have other evidence such as joint health and taxes-but did you send those things? You can also send drivers license copies from both of you showing the same address, affidavits from friends and family attesting to a bonafide relationship and marriage, pictures of you together since marriage( friends and family in some of the pictures, too), joint renters insurance, joint car insurance, any passport stamps from both of you if you traveled internationally together since marriage, joint utility bills(electric, gas, oil). Keep in mind changing any of these things now won't do any good, you must show evidence spanning the time you have been married.

Yes you can write a letter to explain your bills' concern. Good luck.

Yes I know. Aside from the bank statement I made a mistake not sending everything for the last two years. But when I realized that, I later sent them additional documents. I am not sure if the additional documents I sent two almost two months after my initial application was considered
