I think you'll be OK.

BTW, they are protesting the cities removal of homeless people. It's a non denominational protest.

So your thought process wasn't racist, just bigoted and discriminatory. How noble of you.

Well I have been listening to the local radio all morning and no mention of street closures etc.

But they are probably all racists, bigots homophobes etc etc.

This is exactly why everytime there is an attack more people veer right. You have nothing but "that won't work!". Not a single actionable recommendation. Like a republican crying about obamacare. It isn't that your idea isn't good, it is that you don't even have the strength to even float one.

Like I said, excuses and apologetics.

Liberal tears, in which I bathe, do not a policy make.

I'll take no idea over than one based on abject discrimination. We have some history with that already. It'd not a solution. It's your reaction to the emotion of fear.

There are dangerous things in this world, but people who see boogeymen live in a distinctly different way from those who don't. You can take it into the gutter, but don't drag me down there with you.

If your driving into Denver, you should probably put the bottle away.

You could have shortened your post by just saying "liberal tears".

What a paper tiger.

Good luck!

wait, i'm an enabler of what exactly - reason? you can get all crazy worried about muslim countries but i think that legitimate religious freedom (read, not just christian 'religious freedom'), in this country, is what's at stake here.

I don't advocate curtailing anybodies religious beliefs *here* even if those beliefs have led those of a religion to do the same to others every single time they gain a majority without exception. I understand there is nothing to worry about, just because something happens 99 times in a row does not mean that it will be the same for number 100.

I do advocate being overly judgmental on those coming here and looking at the ability to assimilate to the current culture being a larger consideration. Pretty simple: There are parts of the world open to whatever your bent is, If a country wants to ban bikinis and drinking and stone people to death for being gay and that's your thing go there and have a ball. This country is a poor choice.

I've seen people talk about a solution, but what is the problem? We don't have an issue with Islamic Terrorism here in the US. Statistics show you're more likely to be struck by lightning rather than be a victim of it. Why is the talk of keeping Muslims out of the country even coming up because of something that happened in Belgium?

I am not surprised people who don't understand Islam is a religion also don't understand exactly how the US constitution applies; to whom, where, and when.

Basically they are saying we don't have a cure to cancer so let's not bother trying to prevent it. As I said it is cognitive dissonance brought on by a presumptive horror toward discrimination, also based in an ignorance about what discrimination is and how it informs all human interaction.

In simpler terms: you can't fix stupid. That is why they will serve a smaller part at the table going forward and right wing parties keep carving out bigger pieces of the pie in Europe. Each terror attack shows further their complete ineptitude. They are sheep who think wolves are dealt with by showing the belly. Ever the victim.

Good luck!

then you understand why an atheist such as myself has a hard time chopping religion into little bits according to a 'danger' factor that appears to only be measurable by cnn ratings. in this country, our freedoms are at most risk in the hands of 'christian' politicians on their knees and choked full of the religious right. there isn't a single cell in my body that is afraid of islam taking over the us government and going crazy with sharia. terror attacks are going to happen, regardless of immigration policy - so long as you've got followers of islam who believe god wants them to kill the west and followers of jesus who firmly believe the second coming will only manifest once the great war between east and west (ahem) has been fought to the finish this sort of thing won't go away. i bet that if the us starts towing a hard immigration line and/or starts rounding people up by religious affiliation - things will get so.much.worse.

imo, being uber judgmental of muslim refugees and immigrants, more so than any other religion, only reinforces terror groups such as isis and i actually want this sort of extremism to go away so, i'm not about to help out the enemy.

So the Belgium won the lottery of Lightning strike?

No, but I find all of this worry over Muslims kind of weird when we have more people killed here by guns than we've EVER had by Islamic Terrorism. Just like I think this country looked all kinds of stupid when we told France to get more guns after that mass shooting they had last year. 150 people have died from gun violence in a 150 year time span. We have 300+ million guns here and if I go back 150 years, I'm sure we're well past that number.

I got to go and somehow get through the hordes of peaceful Muslim protesters.

It has been fun, hope you all keep safe and see you on the next Islam Atrocity thread, I am sure it will not be too long acoming.
