here is my question and i hope someone who really knows can answer it..I am a us citizen and in 3 days will be sending in the aos and all forms for my german wife...on the i864...i have not made enough money in the last 3 years to file taxes...i am self employed and my customers pays me with personnal checks which i have the bank make copies of when they cash..i only have been working the last 2 months but will make more than enough in a year above the required income level,,,i cannot get a co sponser so that is what I am relying on for my i864 finances..will the ncsis accept this..i sure do hope ..we have everything else in order my income would be the only stumbling block...if someone who has exp this or really knows the answer or uscis please help me ...thank you so much

I am a little confused by your post. You did not earn enough to file taxes but recently you earned enough in the last 2 months? They will want to see tax forms or transcripts to prove your income at least for the most recent year. I am also self employed and had to pay almost $3,000 to have my most recent year done by an accountant. I think the last year at least is required and if you have no sponsor they will definitely want to see it.

As a self employed person the only thing that matters is line 22 from your most recent tax year's form 1040. If that doesn't meet the requirement, you will need to find a joint sponsor.

From what you've stated you did not earn enough to file taxes (Less than $10,000 per year) in 2013 - 2015. That is far below the current $20,025 requirement for the affidavit of support.

If you did not earn enough from employer-paid wages then you had no filing requirement. However, if you had self-employment earnings in any amount, you should have filed a tax return in those prior years.

Either way, if you do not meet their requirement of 20k+, you will definitely need a joint sponsor.
