Hello everyone!

I am flying in June and I want to make sure I bring all necessary documents in the US for smooth transition with work and other stuff. Problem is - I don't know what to bring?!

I didn't finish college and started working when I was still in my freshman year. I worked at BPOs mainly and recently just shifted to online gambling support. But still it's customer service. I pretty much have 7-8 years of work experience (give or take) and just wondering what I need to bring in terms of documents.

BC

High School Diploma

Police Clearance

Certificate of Employment

This is all I can think of. Can someone please help? I want to be prepared to give my documents when I apply for work.

Thanks guys! xx

None of those will likely be needed. You will need to obtain a social security number and work authorization (EAD prior to obtaining the green card).

Thank you! I have read a lot about EAD and SSN and just wondering how the application goes in the US. Here in PH, they ask for your school and employment records.

If you have any other knowledge how the process is like with job applications, it would be much much appreciated.

Thanks again! xx

You will be able to apply for the social securinty card soon after entering the US. You will apply for the EAD after marrying (it goes along with the adjustment of status paperwork). You won't be work authorized for a few months. That will give you time to learn about what jobs are available in your area.

All you listed are good but they would never ask for certificate of employment. Just make sure you take note of employment dates and employer info so that you would have a strong resume. They probably wont even care to call your former employers since they are not in the US, so your work experience would have to stand on its own. Lots of job openings for customer service here though, especially in LA. I had a lot of luck finding jobs there but it was too far from my house. Good luck :)
