Hi,

As I am awaiting a decision from USCIS for my I601 I was just wondering if anybody could tell me who all is notified when a decision is made? I used an immigration lawyer, I was wondering if both him and I and the embassy also get notification? I've been having some issues with my mail and I'm a little worried about missing this very important letter! I am told they do not update their website very often, but the CO doing my interview said once I get the waiver there would be a list of documents required to be updated. Is it easier just to wait for this email from the embassy, or do I physically need this letter to proceed? I appreciate any help!

First you can track the progress of the waiver at USCIS.gov. (see above link) Enter the case number and you can watch the progress yourself. Only the lawyer and the beneficiary will receive the letters.

Once the waiver is approved, USCIS will notify the embassy and they should then contact the beneficiary to complete the process. That should be the process, however don't be afraid to check up with the embassy yourself.

Good Luck!

Thanks very much Lioness! I registered on the website so I can check it periodically now. I also called and a woman told me they actually do update on a per-case basis, despite what people say about them not updating. She also told me that the embassy would contact me when they get notification of my approved waiver. The embassy told me they would give me a list of documents to be updated but only once I receive the approved waiver. I have no idea what those documents will be, but hopefully my waiver will be approved and I can finally move on! She said they're working on cases from August now and that I should I get a decision sometime in April. Fingers crossed! Thanks again!
