Repeat post so you all know what happened . "Hey everyone ; so currently sitting outside the embassy . I was not let in. And when I say tried everything, they still said no . All the security guards are my friends now but that could not get me in . The rules have changed and citizens can longer go in but have to have an appointment already set . I called and spoke to someone and they said petitioner won't be allowed in unless the consular asks for them so that's the answer . I told my fiancé to mention it and hopefully it works in our favor . Waiting patiently for our approval ! Keep praying . My fiancé has been in there for about 4 hours and since I made inside guard friends they said for me to hold tight and that he hasn't been called yet. "

Today's outcome : when called for the interview they rescheduled him instead to June 9 . Plain and simple and we are not sure what to make of it . His view is that he thanks God . He said almost everyone was denied and today was not a good day ; very busy about 100 and over ppl . Dv lotteries , visitor visas , k-1s and yes you bet CR1's too, to him everyone was in his words "bounced" lol but any way from my view sitting outside about 30% got their stuff approved (cuz you know I was asking) I even started working the counter telling people what they need and stuff ; oh Ghana ;-)

As to what happened;, he went inside and gave his appointment letter and was told to sit down. Then they started calling people to turn in their documents. she asked for the police report and medical first then my tax paperwork and affidavit of support, and then asked if he had any supporting documents which he gave to her and she gave him back random items she said she didn't need like the extra copies of items we gave and also extra he got from the medical. After, he was told to go pay his fee $265 and was given a receipt and he sat down . Then they called him for his finger prints and then he also was asked to give the receipt of payment. He said the person doing his fingerprint did an obvious look at our photos and asked what he did for a living which he answered and then he went to have a seat. After around 5 hours towards 1:30 he was called to the window . The person said unfortunately he has been rescheduled to due to an emergency , and that they are sorry for the inconvience and slid him back all is paper work less the police report , medical, and dS160 bar code page and was given a new letter of appointment that says thanks for the documents submitted and your new date is this . Come then. This happened to two other ppl who were also k-1s right after him.

I'm tired of writing. Dm for any more info and those of u who talk to me personally thanks for all the well wishes . We took it as this we are not crying this evening and others today are denied, so we are fortunate. More time to compile more evidence and make our presentation even greater. Comment away with what you all think.

This could work in your favor... Don't give up hope. I believe someone posted in December about a postponed interview. The person was upset but when he/she went back, they were apologetic and they got approved.

So don't give up hope yet.

Good luck!!

After a bit more research, as Eric&tasha said . You can set up an appointment under u.s. Citizens section and click other for the reason on the same day as the interview and then once you enter the building join your fiancé or spouse for the interview however I don't know how a consular may look at the fact that you did all and jumped through their loop hole when they don't really want the petitioners joining in on the interview unless asked . I guess u would have to be very passive in your approach to the counter and have your significant other kindly explain you are here and if needed u could join.

So can't you hold your passport and enter the embassy sepreate with your finance as if you don't know him and you will meet inside or do you still have to book an appointment ?

So far as I know if you are visiting the consular section you would not be allowed into the main hall where interviews are conducted

But at least you can sit and wait for your fiance(e) inside in the waiting room, air conditioner, also you better approach to the citizens window and ask simple questions like how long do I need to wait? it's the way to let them know you came for your scheduled appointment and asking questions about "other". Moral support for your fiance(e) too, you both see each other in the waiting room, then he / she goes the way it's for interview and can mention to the CO you are waiting in the general public waiting room if CO wants to ask you questions. I hope it works.
