Good Morning,

OK so we are at the point where everything has been submitted to the NVC and we are just waiting for an interview date. THIS morning I get an email from NVC that said we have sent your information for an interview but we can't give you a date yet?

Excerpt from letter

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa
case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a
consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.
NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General
tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a firstin, first-
out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested
documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.
When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney
(if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview
requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.
Is this normal? If I read this right it says we should have an interview date within 60 days?
If anyone in the know can fill me in I would appreciate it.
Thanks Suzie

I would rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not ...

Hi Suzie,

Yes this is normal. Your case it still at NVC, waiting for an interview to be scheduled. From what I understand, NVC should begin scheduling interviews again at the end of the month, so by next week. The length of time it takes to receive an interview date depends on the country, some have a longer wait than others. But I don't believe the wait for Canada is that long.

If you haven't already you should join the forum below. Folks going through the same process (spousal visa) are a part of that forum, so you'll hopefully find helpful information and also be able to see timelines of other Canadian filers. :)

Hi Zuzie

I am in the same situation. I received the same email with the letter attached stating exactly the same thing. Hopefully sooner rather than later the interview date will come.

All the best, God Bless.

Congratulations. I have added yo to the Case Complete to Interview thread. Come join us (many Canadians there) on the interview tread.

Your Case Complete date is actually 3/14. The email always comes 7 days after Case Complete. You should update your timeline because you haven't received the Interview letter yet. Now you are in the queue. Interviews for many embassies will start probably next Monday. Canada is usually one of the very last ones.

So don't be dismayed if you see other embassies getting dates and no one from Canada. It will come.

Congratulations. I have added yo to the spreadsheet.
