Said before, make the penalties for unauthorized employment high enough, and there won't be any. Our laws don't allow employers to undercut US employees but our employers do it anyway and our government allows it.

So after 50 years of presidents and congresses working on this "problem", the solution is to build a wall. Cause yeah, nobody in history has ever figured out how to get past a wall.

I have met quite a few who came here or stayed here illegally, none were doing so due to the death issue, they came because they could.

I agree stop the employment and that gets rid of a big chunk of the issue.

The Mexican embassy estimates 1 person per day dies trying to get into the USA. Making it harder to get here without reducing the incentive to get here is only going to make that number go up.

Making it a felony to enter illegally is still not going to stop it.

People will not come here if there is no work. That's the only thing that will stop it. If you don't take employers out of the equation, everything is a band aid solution. You can do it, it just isn't going to be effective. People risk dying just to get here. Death and deportation is not really a scarier deterrent than death.

I've come around to the same conclusion. Make it a felony with hard time to hire them, leave them alone otherwise, and they'll go back home on their own

You can't take one product and extrapolate it to judge an entire trade pact or the effect of that trade pact.

NAFTA has winners and losers and that's how it is supposed to be. The "losers" need to adjust and find other way to compete which is where it becomes a win-win.
