My fiancé had his interview on the 11th and we were told less than 14 calendar days unt we got his visa. We are rapidly approaching that day and we still haven't even so much as gotten a text message for the arrival date and time. It's supposed to be delivered but, again, we haven't gotten anything. No calling card. No email. No text.

He is supposed to leave the 23rd. What are our options, if any?

Have you checked the CEAC tracking page to see if your status has changed from "ready" to "issued"? If it doesn't say it was issued, then the consulate is still working on it.

Hi there,

My advice below assumes that CEAC has turned to 'Issued' rather than saying 'Administrative Processing' or 'Ready'. If it doesn't say 'Issued' then that indicates a different problem.

Nonetheless, you mentioned that:

The courier won't tell us anything without a tracking number and it's out of the embassy's hands since its with the courier.

I'm surprised by that DX refused to do anything without a tracking number given what is written on the DX website here. They advise you to contact them if you do not have a tracking/consignment number. Now, they do suggest contacting them by telephone and by email (using their contact form).

However: Given my direct experience recently though, I would actually suggest that you contact them via Twitter or Facebook if that is an option to you. I used that approach recently and DX were able to provide me with the tracking number very swiftly. I first tweeted them publicly asking for help. Their Twitter handle is @DXdelivery. The DX Twitter Team then got back about 5 minutes later asking me to DM the details. I provided them with some uniquely identifying information and they got back a few minutes after that. All-in-all, about a ten minutes process whilst I made some tea - I came back and they had provided me the tracking/consignment number. All I had to do was provide them with my name and address. I also gave them my mobile telephone number as I thought this might be another unique identifier given that the address it was getting sent to was a DX depot.

I really really hope that helps.

For anybody else reading, I would advise against inundating DX's social media channels with tweets asking for tracking information. It should be an urgent, last minute option (which is actually why I got in contact because I have a last-minute travel requirement where I'll need my passport).

Simon.
