Hey all,

I know this has likely been asked and answered, but here it is again: my wife and her daughter are making the move across. My wife has been here for over 2 years and already has attended the CFO dance. Her 8 year old daughter has not. She just got her approval and will be heading back with her mom in the next couple of weeks. Does the 8 year old daughter need to attend a CFO seminar? If not, does she still need the sticker?

Thanks!!

No. But she will need to be registered and get the sticker in her passport (after obtaining her visa)

Glad to see things moving forward for you all and getting family all together!

Many thanks Hank!!

Here's a follow up...somewhat related. My co-worker has just returned from Taiwan where he met a Filipina. He was talking to her a while online and went to see her. He came back engaged, and just started the K1 dance. Because is fiancé is in Taiwan working, I assume that negates her CFO requirement?

Thanks!!

You are correct - If she processes the visa in Taiwan then travels to the USA.

  • 2 weeks later...

I travelled from Canada to USA, here's bothering me, me and my husband are planning to go home in the Philippines January 2017 for 20 days, Do I need to get CFO when we leave the Philippines?

I hope to report our marriage and renew my passport when Philippines consulate of Chicago do their outreach program here in a few months.

NO. As long as you have your green card no worries about CFO. -CFO, it is only for exiting emigrates.
