my spouse lives in saskatoon ,

we will have our CR1 interview probably at Montreal

will it be OK if the medical is done 3 - 4 days before the interview at Montreal (Medisys Corporate Health LP) ?

it would be expensive to come just for the medical stay in a hotel and then go back .... and come back again for the interview at the same place

we have not yet reached NVC but just planning ahead

Thanks

You would need to do the medical at least 4 business days before the interview. It takes 3 business days after the medical to get the result backs.

When I did mine, it would have been cheaper to fly to and from Montreal twice than staying in the hotel for a week, but I enjoyed the mini vacay. Approximately $100/night for the hotel. My interview was Monday morning so staying over the weekend was more expensive. I left the day of the interview to fly back to Alberta.

So I flew into Montreal on Monday evening. Took the bus to downtown. Had my medical on Tuesday, which I could walk to. Spent the next 3 days touring around Montreal and getting a few cold groceries to eat in my hotel room vs eating out (sandwiches and cereal.) Went to my NEXUS interview on Thursday. Got my medical results on Friday. Spent the weekend again, walking around. Walked to the consulate Monday morning, had the interview, was approved, went for coffee with some other VJ members, grabbed my bus back to the airport (bus is MUCH cheaper than a cab and takes the same amount of time!) and left at 2:30pm!

Any vaccinations she needs she should get done now, not at the medical. She should get her yearly physical before she leaves, (it can take some time to find a doctor you're comfortable with down here.) and make sure she has her MMR, Tdap, and varicella if she's never had chicken pox. I asked my dr to run lab tests to see if I needed the MMR before I got it again.

NLR had a very intricately planned trip that included everything she needed. I think you should start a service to plan trips for others!!

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

Seasonal flu shot

TDAP (Tetanus Diphtheria and Pertussis)

Chicken Pox unless you have had chicken pox

If you don't have vaccination records, your regular doctor can give you any of those for free, as far as I know, except you may be charged for the Flu shot. The panel physician will charge you if you wait until your immigration exam to get them.

The Vancouver doc wanted you to bring or have written down all of the prescriptions you are taking, and they want to know things like when you had any surgery etc for a basic medical history. I would assume they all want that kind of information.

They have a questionnaire about previous surgeries or health issues, including depression. If she has had a history or depression, especially if she is taking medication, she will need a letter from her doctor about it. List all medications, including birth control.

One thing I noticed was I needed more photos than I thought for the process.

I was told I would need 4 dated photos in total for my entire IV process, but the medical alone in Vancouver required 4, so I wound up having to return to the photography store to get extra IV photos printed off for the interview/IV packet. I'm not sure if its because you have to go to 2-3 offices for the Vancouver medical or not.

Would the lab diagnostics [bloodwork] and x-ray be done in one location in Montreal or several?
