Hoping for some advice!

I am a feb 2016 AOS filer.

NOA1 - Feb 16

Biometrics completed March 7th

Today I just looked online and noticed I have a RFIE for my I-485. I'm wondering how this might affect my EAD and AP - for 2 reasons.

During the week I found out that my father has been diagnosed with cancer in my home country - and I have a proposed job offer that is supposed to start in late April. In an ideal world, I was hoping that I might bet the AP/EAD and be able to go home for a couple of days to see my dad. Now I'm concerned that this might set everything back.

Is there anything I can do other than respond to the RFIE so that I can get home to see my dad? Also concerned that this set back may cause me to lose my job offer if the EAD is delayed further.

Thanks for any advice.

Frustrating that 8 days after that decision was made I still don't have the letter so I know what to respond with.

Just received the RFE in the mail. It's all about proof of income for the petitioner. Even though we sent several years of tax info proving >125% poverty and W2/1099's for 2015 (Submitted before tax return) - I'm really not sure what else can be sent other than paystubs for 2016.

When I received my RFE for that - the sender had underlined and circled what I was missing, and what my options are.

I am not an expert, but in addition to tax returns and W2s, I remember my sponsor also submitted the last five pay stubs.

I have read you can also include a letter from your employer, stating the income and job stability.

Thanks for your advice. I have my wife's 2015 tax return and copies of all paystubs for 2016 prepared to send tomorrow.

I did see on mine that letters from employers may be sent, however, my wife does a lot of contract work with various agencies, so getting letters from each of those employers will be extremely time consuming. She has worked for the same organizations for the past 2+ years and that will be reflected on the tax documents and pay stubs that we submit. This is a situation that was already proved that my wife comfortably exceeds the income required to be the sponsor, which makes it all the more frustrating.
