Check out www.fafsa.ed.gov

They are the center that processes financial aid, they should have resources there to help you.

Or you can call their toll free number 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243).

Hope this Helps

My wife is currently getting the maximum amount of her Federal money through FAFSA. She has been getting it ever since we filed the FAFSA, the day she got her conditional green card. If you are poor, this is the way to go in terms of education. However, I am not sure if K1 visa holders are eligible, as "eligible non-citizens" before they get their greencards.

Also higher education is not covered under the I-864, so you are off the hook as the sponsor.

I have a feeling you have to have your conditional green card. The reason I say this is because a while ago we looked into a federal grant vguely while I was looking for a course to do in the future, at school.

This Summer or maybe next Spring, I want to start a course in Art Psychology at MSU - I will look into this whole dealio more then, but since I'll ahve my GC by then (fingers crossed for the 29th!) I'll be ok whatever we choose. Perhaps there is some grant you can get - I have this feelig that it'll be on a "foreign student" basis, and that might mess up the AOS...

I dunno though - I am the kind of gal who'll get 28.5 opinions form different sources before doing anything, so I'll advise you the same :D :D (F)
