On March 1st we received an I-797, approval notice for my husbands ROC; it says he will be receiving his green card within 60 days. It very clearly says he has been approved. The notice was issued by the Houston Field Office. Today we received an RFE, I-797e, from CSC, requesting duplicate copies of evidence we already sent with the original application. This notice was dated March 14. What the heck happened?

Wow. Local offices usually only have your I-751 file if it has been forwarded to them in order to schedule you for an interview. Had you had an interview?

Last time I called about my case (which is stuck in security checks and its been 14 months now), a tier 2 officer told me that RFE sometimes is automatically sent if the case is pending for some time.

Call them and clarify that it was not a mistake. Good luck.

no, we were not called for an interview at all. anyways will contact them on monday.

Hi jenkatx,

Have you figured out what is going on with the REF? It could be sent out in error, or they missplaced your files and needed to provide another copy to them. Other than that, I dont see why they need you to re-sent a whole package again.
